holy hell... We agree on something. I agree that OU is still a powerhouse with landry behind center. Florida does have a easier path to the NC this year compared to last year and 06. But we have to wait for the season to really be over to talk about how strong the schedule is.
We will see.
and the question about texas was an honest one. I couldn't remember if they won or not. basically I hate watching OSU with a passion and Texas kinda bores me. so I didn't watch that game. sorry

OK I'll bite and change the topic..... After this first few weeks who do you guys think are the heisman hopefuls ?
I think my top 3 right now are:
Jahvid Best
Jacory Harris
3 is a toss up ... I thought Dez Bryant from Okie state would be up there but the loss to Houston really hurt. I think Houston's QB deserves to be at number 3.....
.... and Landry Jones at 4 .... hahaha j/k
|
That post of Iggys deserves a FKKKKKK picture but my paint skills suck..
Jahvid best looks like the front runner at the moment.
Im not sold on Jacory Harris at the moment. Yes hes playing well but we will see once he sees the OU team.
I like McElroy from bama hes playing well now and did against VT. we will see once the sec schedule gets going.
Jake Locker looks like a stud if he can keep it up he will be in the top 3
Sneed is looking good also
as of now mine is
Best
McElroy
Locker
But this is just a best qb now a days. that kinda sucks I think McFadden should of won it over Tebow a couple of years ago.
I think AP should of got his also.
the Heisman really doesn't mean as much as it did years ago.

Thanks guys. I, and the rest of CP's NCAA football fans, appreciate a little diversity in our thread.
I agree very much with that list of Heisman hopefuls. Right now, however, Best is ahead by quite a margin. He's going to have to continue putting up those types of numbers AND will likely need to have a huge game against USC to make up for his non-QB status.

Yeah....that list is good but Jacory Harris has to be there as well. Miami is a fascinating story...unranked to start the year and up to #9 after two games. A lot of the credit goes to Harris...his poise in the pocket is amazing for a sophomore. Also that speed on D is fraking unbelievable. Gonna be a team to watch and see if they can handle some success.

News out of gainesville is that 6 more players are having flu symptoms and WR coach had a fever of 104*
Good news is LB Spikes (achillies tendon issues) and wr Deonte Thompson (hamstring) are probable for the UK game.
Spikes injured himself during the first half of the TENN game and played only a few downs in the 2nd half. Deonte Thompson didn't play at all and hes the #1 WR.
Only one of the 6 right now are starters but I hope this flu gets over with soon.

I'm not sold on Miami yet. They have two very tough games ahead of them VT and Oklahoma. I think they lose to OU and I just dont think they have what it takes. But I also didn't think they would be above .500 at this point. I wonder if they are the Crimson tide of last year..

Jacory Harris is the real deal. I have full faith that The U will overcome a VT squad that barely beat Nebraska (taylor is mad overrated) and an Oklahoma team that will either have porn stache backup or trying to get healthy Bradford in the lineup. Miami being back is wicked.

I'll take anything to help give UK a better chance against Florida. I still don't think they will win (here's hoping though) but will be happy so long as they don't get blown out like last year.

porn stache has looked pretty good and the O line seems to be getting over its discipline problems. The only thing that helps Ou against Miami is that the Canes' secondary is Horrible. We should have Wr's running open all game . I dont think youd want even a trying to get healthy Sammy B standing back there getting to take his pick of open WR. Our O-line just needs to give us a lil time against those faster than S--- D Line. It will be a good game but Ou's def will hold Miami in check and hopefully we can pull one out.

I think OU hands the first loss to the "U" next week.
I see the way harris throws the ball and some of the highlights on espn and they just float there. Once he plays a real defense something not in the acc hes gonna have problems.

If Miami goes into blacksburg and goes 3-0 to start the year, after playing 3 BCS conference teams (including a rival) then Miami has to be on everyones radar

Harris will get killed when he plays a real defense. Someone said overrated earlier about a QB I was shocked it wasn't Harris.
The hype that Miami and him are getting without a single impressive win/game is a bit shocking.
I guess everyone is excited that they may be back and that the ACC might have something resembling a top 25 team for once.

S. Carolina looking good in this game against #4 Ole Miss.
Been an extremely physical game!

Two wins over two ranked teams isn't impressive? I'm no bandwagon Miami fan, and I'm not drinking the crazy kool aid, but you've got to respect that.

If the Cocks wouldn't have pissed away that game vs. georgia, their season would look alot different right now. that is a decent team.

No kidding.
Tell me Moon...who in the entire country has two more impressive wins this year???
What a bizarre statement.
Put it this way...Harris has passed for more yards in 2 games against ranked opponents than USC has in 3 games...2 of which were against unranked foes.

Early season rankings don't mean that much.
GT and FSU are not good teams and the victories aren't overly impressive just because people overrated them early in the year.

I am not sure that having more passing yards than a true freshman playing against a great defense and a terrible QB is that impressive.

Fine...then once again, name me one team with two more impressive wins this year.
you can't, because that team doesnt exist.
whether you think Ga Tech and FL St are any good or not is irrelevant...they were top 20 ranked clubs. Thats as good as anyone can claim.
And i am no Miami fan...belive me...but Jacory Harris is a sophomore who is lighting it up against very good teams.
