If Manning can get two more rings, there won't even be a debate.

Ya, let me edit my post to remove "may be" from greatest.

Easiest job in football - Colts offensive coordinator. I'm pretty sure Manning has made that position nearly obsolete.

I think one Joe Montana may have a say in that. At least until Peyton get 3 more rings and 2 more SB MVPs.

Without a doubt. The only way to defend a 3-point or less lead against Payton Manning late in the game is ensure your offense keeps him off the field entirely. There is no other way to deal with him, anything more than hail mary time left on the clock and he's got it handled.

News coming out today about this new stadium in Los Angeles on NFL radio. Which begs the question...how long until Jacksonville tries to move there?

Immediately, but if the owners were smart, they'd expand considering you could command about a billion dollars in expansion fees.

to even it out, the other expansion team would be Toronto

I could see Skeletor licking his chops about going back to LA and into a new stadium. There's little to no movement here to get the Raiders or A's into a new stadium(s). *Disclaimer* I don't think the NFL would welcome that, nor would I like it.

Is the NFL strong enough to expand to both LA and Toronto or would it be wiser for them to be more conservative to relocate Jacksonville and Buffalo to LA and Toronto, respectively?

I don't think the NFL should expand right now. I'm all for relocating some of the weak sister teams (Jacksonville, Buffalo, St. Louis), but I think expansion would just further dilute the talent pool.

SI article about Mike Singletary this week and it has this quote:
Quote:
Give me the guy who has maybe just enough talent to be on the field but thinks he's great, and who's willing to do whatever he can do to contribute, to make his team better. That's what I want.
That would be why Shaun Hill, who is on no one's top 20 QB list, is the starting QB.

He also had an interesting quote about Crabtree:
Quote:
I had a chance to see his heart when we met before the draft and in the first minicamp, when he was trying to run routes and he shouldn't have been because of his [surgically repaired left] foot. He was standing over there about to cry because I wouldn't let him run routes. The guy is a competitor. I would love to have Michael Crabtree, but I want him the right way.

I hope he signs and plays well. I took a chance on him in my keeper league. Here is an opinion piece on Crabtree.

Yeah, MM is one of the most respected 49er beat writers. Even the other beat writers refer to him.

Edit: I wonder what affect this will have on his manager, Parker's, recruiting? Will players shy away from hiring him for fear he will push to hard and they won't get their contract? Or will it attract them since he knows how to play hardball.
I'd be wary of going with a guy who might cost me a year. I'd prefer to go with a guy who plays hard but gets me to camp on time.

I also wonder if endorsement contracts will include clauses about actually playing. If I had signed Crabtree for endorsements I wouldn't be happy with the way this has worked out.

I didn't realize this till the other day, but Parker is also the agent for the Chiefs first round pick, 3rd overall, Tyson Jackson. He was late for camp as well, although that seems to be the norm these days. The last Chiefs first round draft pick I remember being to camp on time was Larry Johnson.

Wow. First time watching Mark Sanchez - he just marched down the field on the opening drive like it was nothing. Going 5/6 for 50 yards and then running it for the final 14 (he didn't even get rattled on blatant missed pass interference call!).
