Traditionally, this ale yells "GO FLAMES!" in unison with his brother before the last line of O' Canada. I love that sports has the national anthems. I also love fans so jacked up they're already exploding even before the puck drops.
I'm paying good money to be there. Its not like I'm booing an anthem or yelling through a memorial "moment of silence" or something.

Could all the morons in the 'bleeds understand the concept of waiting until a stoppage to move around?
Seriously, I cannot wait until I have the ability to drop thousands of dollars on seasons to get away from the cretin up there.

haha he sarcastically remarks how we should also yell "see" during the American anthem... funny thing is that during the Playoffs "C" was actually catching on as well. I for one welcome our section 218 RED yelling overlords.

Although I am fine with that in particular (albeit not my bag), acting like an ass during the anthem's in disrespcctful, and its got nothing to do with being a "sit on your hands" "boring" fan.
Up where we sit for the past 7 years, more then the fair share of dinks who love to pipe up with comments in between verses (in order to make up for some other inadequacy so that they get some attention, either a chuckle from easily distracted randoms, to "impress" their dates, or a high five from their buddies). Others sing the US national anthem with juvenile voices or words, or chat on their cell phones or have loud conversations with no regard to others around them, or want to walk to thier seats down in the middle of the row with this going on.
Chanting "red" like that isn't everyone's cup of tea, that's for sure, especially when it comes to happening during a country's national anthem. No matter how clever (or what other teams (who cares about that, really?) do) or how unique or fun it may to some, those who have differing opinions certainly doesn't make them less "hardcore" or "excited" as any other Flames fan because they don't like someone next to them yelling out like that during an anthem.
My 3c.

No joke. I was sitting at a Roughnecks game once, in what might well have been section 218, when some idiot asked me and my friends to keep it down a little. We simply got louder. Guy left at half time and never returned.

Figures you guys would crap all over a nice, legitimate rant. Screaming at points in the US anthem at a Flames game is beyond ######ed.
