Default "Most Thanked Posts"

I have an idea.

Could we somehow compile a search function that lets users check out the 'best' posts of the day. A sort of best of CP. I'm loving the thanks feature.

Besides, it would make it even easier for Calgary Herald writers to pull out posts from the site to use as jokes!

I don't think the "Thanks" modification for the forum software includes anything like that. Good idea though, I should recommend that to the author of the mod.

That's a really cool idea. For the first couple days, the Thanks feature was overused which made it seem annoying in my opinion. Now that things have settled down, it's really grown on me.

Perhaps could the # of Thanks a person has be incorporated into a new Skill system?

You can in the user CP. Not a search, but see 'thanked posts by' and it shows you.

Incidentally, I'm batting over 10% on thanked posts.

People with fewer posts when thanks was introduced have an advantage in that it is easier to maintain a higher thanks to posts ratio.

Just sayin'.

So, when you click on someone's statistics on their profile, how do they come up with the number of "total thanks?" I see the number of times a person has been thanked and in how many different posts, but where does the number of "total thanks" come from. some sort of formula?

That's how many times they've thanked someone else.

I don't know about that. That would put me in the top 10 as well and I don't think I get Thanked that much to put me in the top 10.

If one has more than 2,000 it has to be pretty close to top 10.
