The Lost Symbol - Dan Brown
Came out yesterday, just wondering if anyone has picked it up yet? I was planning on waiting for the softcover to come out, but if the davinci code is any indication that might be a long wait.
Any early comments/reviews on it...no spoilers please. Thanks!

Honestly I couldn't even get through the Davinci Code. His writing style totally turned me off. Reading the first two chapters was like touring the 7 levels of hell.

My pre-order shipped last night with Amazon, looking forward to it. It will most likely follow the same fast paced writing style at Da Vinci and Angels, should be entertaining at least.

nice, I'd imagine it'd be quite similar to the last two. I'm not expecting any literary masterpiece, just something entertaining, and dan brown does that great imo. I find the short chapters really set the pace for his books.

Yeah thats a good book, and I liked Digital fortress too. It's easy reading and what he does he does well. Nobody's pretending he's second coming of Goethe.

Angels and Demons was like reading a bag of chips....easy to get into, addictive, and not nourishing at all

I agree that Brown is a predictable formulaic writer. However I find them entertaining and enjoyable. I also enjoy watching the odd reality show. I have read all of his works and will eventually get around to reading this after the other pulp-fiction book I picked up yesterday.
Level 26, it is from the creator of CSI and is heralded as the first Digi-Novel, There is an online component were you have to log in and watch clip etcs. Sounds pretty interesting and I can't wait to get into this one.

I read the Da Vinci Code the summer the movie came out, before seeing the movie, and enjoyed envisioning how I felt the actors chosen for the characters would bring them to life on screen. Then I watched the movie and was thoroughly let down by the great travesty that it ultimately was. And had a fantasy where Ron Howard and Tom Hanks were both trapped in unsolvable puzzle that would prevent them from ever making another movie for the rest of time. Sadly, that fantasy never came true.
Tom Hanks sucks.

Just finished reading this book, pretty good and yeah, it had similar plot structure to his other books.
His books really grab my attention and I find I can't put them down.
Recommended read though if you're looking for a good page turner.
