Default Grocery Store Hijinx

So I am at Sobeys (Strathcona) and asked for 200 grams of ginger beef. She responded asking if I would like a medium, and I said I would like 200 grams. She then said that was a medium, so I told her she was the expert and that sounded fine. She filled up this container thing, weighed it and asked if 300 grams was fine, I said it sounded good. We then went through the exact same conversation for the sweet and sour chicken, this time resulting in nearly 400 grams. Both items tasted really bad and I eventually threw them out.

Why do they post the price per gram if they are going to ask if I want a medium knowing full well a medium is way more than what I asked?

Moral of the story? Avoid the medium Chinese food at Sobeys.

Well you did accept and pay for it. If you only wanted 200g, then tell her to take out 100g when she tells you it's 300g

If I asked her to remove 100 grams, she would ask if I meant a small. Then the whole story would repeat again. It was very strange. The whole store seemed a little 'off'.

I never found supermarket food like that to be any good. No idea why you would eat chinese food there. Eat chinese food at a chinese restaurant.

That Sobey`s is off. Ever since Co-op opened I haven`t been there, now I am looking forward to Safeway opening so Co-op is less busy.

Interestingly enough the salad rolls at Co-op aren't that bad, and even the sushi will fill in in a worst-case scenario.

I remember when that was the only place around (Sobeys), now there is way too much competition to serve the junk I just had. I should get the manager to go over and taste that crap.

I live close to the new Safeway, and I am totally geeking out for it to open. I can actually see it from where I am typing.

He'd probably test it and say it tastes great. You walk and he spits it in the garbage.

No sane person would eat that stuff and say it was good. It was really horrible. I could honestly go for a major barf right now. I can post pics.

Elaine: Can I have a big salad?

Waitress: A big salad?

Elaine: You see?

George: Just tell them what you want. They'll make it for you.

Elaine: It's a salad, only bigger, with lots of stuff in it.

Waitress: I can bring you two small salads.

Elaine: Could you put it in a big bowl?

Waitress: We don't have big bowls.

Elaine: All right, just get me a cup of decaf.

Waitress: We have Sanka.

The sushi is a worst case scenario that will fill your crapper.

Just don't go to Starbucks and ask for milk.

When we lived in Calgary we stopped in at one downtown, since I'm not a coffee drinker I got a cookie and asked for a glass of milk. The girl was completely confused and had to ask someone else if they served milk and she wasn't sure either. She asked if I wanted a steamed milk and I told her "no, just a glass of milk". Then she came up with some other fancy type of drinks that contained milk and I said "no, just a glass of milk. I bought a cookie and would like a glass of milk to go with it". After a few minutes she finally clued in and I got my milk.
