Really wish we would just go away. He has no talent, using a computer to generate a beat and manipulate your voice isn't talent.
While I'm not a huge Kanye fan, I think it takes a fair bit of talent to use a computer to generate music. Look at Girl Talk, Nine Inch Nails, Deadmau5, MSTRKRFT...it all takes skill to be able to manipulate sounds so they fit together into a good sounding song.

Autotuning however, is complete garbage. There's the odd song where it sounds cool, but it's so over used it's ridiculous.

I actually like Kanye. I don't care about his personal life, but he does make some good albums. His latest album is more of a headphone album though.

Excuse my whiteboy ignorance, but what is a "headphone album"?

Idiot. I'm a pretty big fan of some of his music, but stuff like this really makes me want to stop supporting him. He needs to shut up and make music, and also put auto tune away for good.
Also, these awards are crap overall, so I don't really feel too bad for this Taylor girl or Beyonce. They're both idiots too.

#1 - I agree with whomever said this was scripted.

#2 - I would never have paid any attention to anything about the MVAs or the people nominated if it wasn't for this thread. I probably should have ignored this thread. By watching it, they got exactly what they wanted. Attention.

Does Kanye do his own editing and mixing, then? I don't think he does... That's generally someone else.

Why's that? Taylor Swift seems to have a pretty good head on her shoulders.

“I’ve been trying to do my research more,” she told The Tennessean. “Before you have the ability to vote, you just kind of support who your parents support. I’ve had more interest in figuring out who believes in what, because every vote counts. I’m not going to talk about politics, because it’s not my specialty. I know as much as your average 18-year-old who wants to know the general issues… but I’m not going to go out there and try to influence thousands of people because I have a music career and a platform to say things publicly. I don’t think because you do have the platform to say things publicly that you necessarily should.”

Is that quote supposed to reflect negatively upon her intelligence?

Completely agree, one of the few sensible celebrities that are still in the world I would say. One of the classiest celebrities as well I would say.

Devil's Advocate just put up a prime example of why she is a sensible person.

one that's so bad, you only listen to it on headphones, just in case someone else is close by and catches you listening to it.

If only! That could have been one of the greatest moments in music history. I smile just thinking about that scenario.

FROM Kanye West's written apology:
Quote:
"I'm sooooo sorry to Taylor Swift and her fans and her mom," he wrote. "I spoke to her mother right after and she said the same thing my mother would've said.

I don't know about you guys, but I would have paid to see Kanye West getting reamed out in technocolour language by an older white woman.

kidding aside, it's the kind of album best appreciated with headphones, Pink Floyd made headphone albums exclusively. Hip Hop artists tend to make club albums.

That quote made me respect her more, I don't really see how that makes her seem dumb.

Also, WTF happened to fish sticks hair? You give me the name of the guy who did that to you Kayne and I will get him for you.
