Howdy,

This site is absolutely awesome, I have been reading up on here since I first heard that you existed back in April, just before last playoffs, and I have found this site to be very entertaining and informative.

I am a born and raised Calgarian, and Die hard Flames and Stamps fan.

I found myself in social situations within my close family and friends and have raised concerns such as: People not wearing red/red jerseys at games, the banners in the rafters not being consistent, and the heroin draft not having quite the same effect since they started using different plastic cups. I am often met with with a curious horror as the people closest to me suggest that "Who really cares?" and "It really doesn't matter".

Needless to say, as I read thread after therad, I felt at home here in the CP.

I decidied to actively join, even thugh I couldnt possibly contribute regularily as much as some of you do, but I feel like CP is already a small part of me, so any small contribution that I can make should be worthwhile.

Questions:

1) How do I read white text? I have already missed out on the entire Michael Jackson thread and countless other inside material.

2) People can be "thanked on their useful posts" here. I have never seen that on other message boards. There appears to be a limit on the amount of "Thanks" that one can give. Is there some kind of ultra-canadiana thank you etiquite that a new commer should be aware of? This is the first time that I have logged on as a member , so these answers may become more obvious as I poke around.

Comments:

1) Thank You for the Funny Picture Thread, I make a point of checking in every week or two, and every time it is absolute gold.

2) Thank You AC for the videos.

3) Thank you for recently explaining what IIRC stood for, I tried to figure that out all summer and couldn't make the connection.

I plan on spending most of the next 4 weeks in the football gambling threads until hockey starts I hope to see everyone there.

Go Flames!

To read white text just highlight it with your mouse. On firefox it turns the background dark blue and the text appears.

Now thank me.

Craig Conroy is ringing at your front door. wait a second...his wife is ringing your back door. You can only answer one door; which door do you open? Discuss.

1) Ctrl+A works

2) Make sure to use all you thanks only on the coolest posters here. You dont want to end a CP session with any leftover thankses. This list should help you distribute your thanks, so make sure to seek out these posters:

Stang
CrusaderPi
Oilfan#81
oilers fan
DFO
Staypuft
Moneyguy
Hemmer
Oilersbaby
Oil Stain
Walter Reed

You should be banned for that post.

Trying to lead the Flames faithful away from the light and into the depths of the darkness that is Deadmonton.

The list above, Rjcsjc62, is the list of people you should never thank... All Oilers fans infesting our lovely CP. We keep them around because they are fun to beat on every once in awhile.

In all seriousness, you should give thanks to posts that you find helpful, informative, hilarious, or just present a point that you were going to make.

As others have said, white text can be seen by highlighting the text in question. Ctrl+A works as well, as also noted.

It was a good first post even if your spelling was atrocious.

Welcome. Here's another great tip for you.

CP tip #43c - The Ignore List.
1) Click "User CP" on red bar.
2) Click "Edit Ignore List" under "Settings & Options"
3) Individually add: Stang, CrusaderPi, Oilfan#81, oilers fan, DFO, Staypuft, Moneyguy, Hemmer, Oilersbaby, Oil Stain & Walter Reed.
4) ....
5) Profit!

Wait, what? How do you know my name?

To answer the thanking question, it's on the right hand side, under each post, by the quote buttons. Other useful features include multi-quote, tattle, and view first new post. I won't tell you where those are or how to use them, though.

Thank you for lurking and staring to get a feel for the place before you jumped right in. Best way to do it. Other wise you might call Bingo a troll.
