If Broda comes back, I think the Hitmen are a lock for a decent playoff seed, but anything beyond that will depend on the coaching staff. The offense could feature one of the best 1st lines in the WHL, the defense looks solid (although no longer dominant), and Jones might be the best goalie in the league now. 1st in the conference if Williamson is equal to Lowry, 4th if he's pretty good, 7th or 8th if he loses the room.

Hitmen back on form so far in their season opener. 4-1 for the Hitmen in the 2nd period and they chase the Rebels starting goaltender.

How about Kootenay outshooting Lethbridge 41-4 so far in their game. I guess I should add they're losing 7-0 so far.

Tyler Fiddler with a natural hat trick makes it 5-1.

End of 2nd period now.

Hitmen win their season opener 6-2 over Red Deer. Fiddler with a natural hat trick and Schultz, Madaisky and Stone with the other goals.

Easy win for the Hitmen. They looked good without really breaking much of a sweat imo.

The Rebels looked........well.........just like last season's pathetic bunch. The team has way more talent now but it didn't show tonight. It would be nice to see a winning team again. It's been a while.

The Hitmen will again likely win a few this season. Good team. Jones was excellent when required. The entire team played well though, no passengers. Tyler Fiddler equaled his last seasons goal output in the first game! Wow!

Saw Nugent-Hopkins got a goal again though. Even at 16, that kid is going to be one hell of a difference maker for the Rebels.

Fiddler's hat trick is epic! He had all of 4 career goals in 65 games up to last night, lol.

As to the Hurricanes game, that is just mildly awful, lol.

Nope I knew that Lethbridge would suck.

Plus with all the stupid moves they made in the off season it looks good on the board and new staff to get kicked around like this.

The Hitmen just tied the game at 1 tonight in Edmonton. Rookie blueliner Ben Wilson scored his first dub goal for the Hitmen.

Tyler Fiddler with his 4th of the season already, makes it 2-1 Hitmen with less than 6 minutes to go in Edmonton. Great Shot!

Ian Schultz with a goal, between Jung's legs. 3-2 Hitmen.

Nice.

And damn Moon, you weren't kidding on the Canes sucking this year. Losing 7-3 to the Tigers? 15GA in two games, ouch. Save some of those GAs for us! Meanwhile, the Rebels manhandled the Ice tonight, 7-1.

12 teams have scored 5+ goals in a game already, in just 18 league games played. Somehow I doubt this high scoring trend will continue long. Nice to see Portland come out of the gates with a strong win. That franchise needs some good news this year.

How does Kootenay win one night 8-1, outshooting the opposition 48-14, then the next night lose 7-1, getting outshot 50-15?

Broda's been assigned by Washington, but I'm not sure if it's to Hershey or Calgary. Anyone know? It would be huge for us if we get him back.
