CFL vs NFL vs NCAA

I am just tired of seeing the Game Thread ending up being the comparison to CFL vs NFL or NCAA. People keep comparing the two leagues most especially. I watch the NFL but I like the CFL better. Simple as that. They are two different leagues and salary-wise there is a big difference.

If you feel like comparing the rules, how they play, players and so on... here's your thread. Leave the game thread for people who wants to talk about their predictions, what is happenning and end of the game talk.

I love the dedication to the run game in the NFL. I can't stand a game that is based on passes. I also love how the defenses in the NFL are able to line-up on the line of scrimmage. I'm just not a very big fan of high-scoring, run and gun, backyard football, which is what the CFL is.

yep. i love the CFL, NFL is good but i can't get into it, don't find it as exciting as the CFL and tougher to follow.
NCAA is good football, but same thing as NFL, harder to follow and hard to get into (this is why I enjoy CIS, Go Dinos)
if you like one more than another, great, all 3 equally? great.
no need to put people down for watching one or say any of them are bush etc.
different types of football, some focus more on the game, others the atmosphere or hype.
they are all skilled players and play at a much higher level then me.
for my preferences: CFL>CIS>NCAA>NFL

I like the NFL and CFL equally, but the CFL is put over the top by the fact that there is a hometown team.

I do watch some NCAA football, but not as much, the talent overall is less, plus the rules aren't quite as good, IMO.

NFL is getting to be a little more fun but the 4 downs allows for a ground and pound game where teams just run the ball ad nauseum.

It has been getting better in the Brady, Manning(s) etc era and the amount of teams that rely on defense and defense only are starting to go away which I like.

Be it CFL or NFL I think teams should average at least a touchdown (or pts equivalent) per quarter to keep the game entertaining.

Nothing worse than a 10-6 game and luckily the CFL doesn't have a lot of those.

all good, but AFL no longer exists (folded operations), unless you mean Australian football league, which is wierd but entertaining

WOw that is some great insight.

And while I said the NFL is getting better I do believe they have WAY more boring games than the CFL.

Every sport can have boring games, but in the NFL when it's boring it usally means great defensive plays.

To me I'll take watching extreme talent work their position over a bunch of hasbeens who for the most part can't even make the arena football league. Every-time I watch a CFL game I just laugh at the miss tackles, dropped passes and stupid fumbles.

It's a game thats impossable to bet on because it's a joke...enjoy though.

They have way more games period. There's bound to be some stinkers when 14 games are played as opposed to 4.

NFL >>>>>>>>>>>>>> CFL. Way better talent, more competition, better rules 30 team league as opposed to an 8 team league where 6 make the playoffs, and IMO way more enjoyable to watch.

NCAA I don't follow but I can see how people really like it. I just never got into it.

I personally can't stand the CFL game. 3 down football is horrible in my opinion.

NCAA and NFL are interchangable for me in terms of enjoyment. I rarely watch the CFL.

As has been stated before there is no good clean way to quantify the merits of one game over the other. You could never line up a CFL team against an american football team and get "fair" rules. The closest comparison would be lining up a college team against an NFL team and the only game that could be considered close would be the best NCAA team against the worst NFL team. This is debateable. As I was reminded earlier in the first drive of the opening game, even the Superbowl Champions have lots of southern small school products (i.e. Ike Taylor).

For me I like passion, so I like NCAA football best, but I follow all football. I also like the fact that NCAA is always changing from year to year. It makes it more interesting.
