England's group is slightly tougher than the Dutch. Out of the three teams my money would be on Spain as the most logical team to adapt better to the African heat. Although isnt it technically winter in South Africa at that time? RULE BRITTANIA!!!

It'll be winter. It was very cold at the recent Confederations Cup. One of the factors in the US defeating Spain in fact.

The climate in South Africa will be perfect for the English. As an Englishman I'm really happy to see them qualify way ahead of the game for a change. It's a good team and finally a well coached one too. If the team can stay healthy then they will have the best chance to make some serious noise of any England team in memory. I still like Spain a whole bunch though. They have to be considered the favourites going in.

I'm seriously getting giddy that all the spots for the World Cup are filling up, then I will soon learn what 14 teams I will be watching next year....

Why? If your country (I'm assuming Canada) aren't going to be there, why do you care? The Champions League is much better quality football than the World Cup. I'd argue that a match between two mid-table Premiership teams is much higher quality than Ghana vs. Bahrain or Mexico vs. New Zealand.

Why do I care? Well I have tickets to 7 different matches in South Africa next year, so I think that's one reason.

Any exotic teams you're looking forward to? Like North Korea?

Have you ever been to a World Cup (not implying anything...just asking)? The atmosphere and the festivities are unbelievable. I had the opportunity of seeing USA vs. Portugal, Spain vs. South Africa, and USA vs. Mexico (rd 16) in 2002 in Korea.

There is a lot more to the World Cup than just the game. Nothing can match it.

I went to the World Cup in 1990 and 1998 and I must say that I wasn't nearly as impressed as you obviously were. I'd much rather see Celtic vs. Rangers or Liverpool vs. Everton in terms of atmosphere.

I think a World Cup outside of Europe is more fun for atmosphere.

I think they'll be fine, theres just too much talent there, as long as they make that 5th place playoff spot they should be okay, the team they have to play in that game should be a cakewalk.

Bu you are right, if they miss that 5th place spot they are boned. Maradona would be flayed alive in the streets.

Here we go. Tabloids dream.

If one single member of that squad has a loose turd in the next 9 months the British Media will report it.

And that's before they even fly out.

I have never been to a wc game but my mum has. We are german and take some serious pride in our national team. During the last world cup I got days off from my boss to watch the games. My moms birthday was the day the stupid italians beat germany and she didn't even want go out to dinner.

the WC is serious business to us. right now I have a tea bag that lives above me and two german families that live next door. we are going to hang out in the man cave and watch all teh matches this summer.
