The Browns coach did not play either quarterback Derek Anderson or Brady Quinn in a 26-23 loss to the Chicago Bears. Has he made up his mind on his starter for the regular season? Or was he protecting both from injury as a precursor to a trade?

Earlier in the week, the Browns filed a waiver claim on former New England backup quarterback Kevin O'Connell, but lost out to the Detroit Lions, who had first dibs.

All of these events may amount to nothing or to a shocking resolution of the Browns' quarterback quandary.

Eric Mangini kept nearly all of his starters off the field Thursday night, which means there was no obvious resolution to the quarterback competition between Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson. At the same time, another strong performance by James Davis may put the rookie closer to a featured role in the backfield over veteran Jamal Lewis.

Fans think Anderson will be traded.
It's nice to think that the Browns may finally have a young and decent RB. It seems like forever.

I rented Madden 2010 for Wii last night, and the Browns destroyed the Jets. Tonight we'll take on the Vikings.

In the third quarter of this game I bet Brett Favre will wonder if that pain in his abdomen is a result of a hernia or an imaginary broken rib. I guess it doensn't matter much for him as either way he'll get a prescription for percocet.

It was a beautiful late summer evening on the shores of Lake Erie. The eight-time champions, the exalted Cleveland Browns, hosted the invaders from frigid Northern climes, the four-time Super Bowl losers, the Minnesota Vikings.

The eyes of the nation were trained on the future hall-of-famer and wishy-washy traitor, Brett Favre, but it was the surprise starter Brady Quinn and aging ruinning back Lewis that would make NFL history.

The 21-21 half-time score flattered the visitors, as the Browns controlled the ball with a punishing ground attack. The Vikings scored on three broken plays, but were otherwise ineffective. Favre seemed confused by the swarming Browns defence and the auditory assault of The Dogpound.

In the second half, the dam burst, and the Browns scored three unanswered touch-downs. The Vikings felt much shame.

CLE 42 MIN 21
Rush 296 35
Pass 282 77
1st D 30 3
3rd% 52 9
Poss 48:34 11:26

Quinn was 17/35 and a QB rating of 87.5
Lewis ran for 246 yards.
Edwards caught 9 passes for 171 yards and one TD.

What did you do, make the Vikings release the Williams and Jarred Allen before you played that game. It will take 5 weeks for the Vikings to give up 296 yards rushing against.

Brady Quinn will be the starter:

Brady Quinn took the snaps with Cleveland's first-team offense during practice on Friday, the clearest sign yet he will start Sunday's season opener against Minnesota.

Where to drink in Cleveland:

Will the Browns beat 4-12 this year? Does it matter? This city bleeds orange and brown. Rest assured, each home game Sunday, Browns Stadium will be packed, tailgaters will be out in full force, and downtown will be proudly showing its colors. So in honor of Sunday's home opener, read on for some of the best restaurants and bars to get into the pre-game spirit

Peterson is pretty good.

Quinn shows some potential - seems fairly poised.

I lost several this weekend. None were Browns-related. I won $50 today, but I'm only up $25 for the weekend.

Awesome! Keep betting on the Browns for us all and maybe I'll buy junky one of the drinks that you owe him to keep the pool close this year!

(Quinn didn't look too bad yesterday though, to keep sort of on topic here)

A Cleveland Brown?

Isn't that an ugly chick with a good body?

Nice uniform, ugly helmet.

The Cleveland Browns are 0-1 after Sunday's season-opening, 34-20 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

That makes the "expansion-era" Browns 54-107, including 28-53 in Cleveland Browns Stadium. They're 1-10 in season openers, all of them played at home.

Does this sound like the kind of team that usually has numerous question marks?

Following are five questions for fans:
