But seriously. I used to be a hair-salon-once-every-6-months kind of gal. But I recently have found an awesome hair stylist, am going every 6-8 weeks, and am receiving compliments from all sorts of people. It's way more expensive... but totally worth it!!
So 3Justin3, I say find a good hair salon/stylist and it'll be better than the barber in the long run.

But probably yours costs half as much?? Or maybe not. But my hubby is like $35/cut, and I'm $60/cut. So it almost works out that men should go twice as often...

You're nailing your bro's ex and getting a haircut for free? Do you need like a coupon?

Man, my former brother in laws wife is smoking. Closest thing I can think of is Alektra Blue. I could never do that to him though. The free haircuts are awesome though.

I for one have a huge weakness for guys who keep themselves groomed regularly. No one's saying you need to get a mani/pedi once a week or get a bikini wax, but well kept hair and eyebrows are a huge plus.

Oh, I'm no guido hairy eyebrow fella. You're a stylist, you'll understand, my cut doesn't match the shape of my head. Takes a while.

Absolutely, some people take longer, head shape, hair type, all of that comes into play. Unfortunately some people don't understand that--stylists and clients alike. I ask a ton of questions, try to figure out the person's lifestyle, how they usually style their hair, what they expect from the new cut/style, etc. So when I hear stories about stylists just completely fataing up a haircut I just get frustrated, because it gives us all a bad name.

When I was in school for cosmetology, the owner of the school (it was a big trade school, cosmo was just one of the programs) would come back to get his hair done, and would only come to me. He obviously got the haircuts for free (the clinic we had only charged minimal fees anyway, $6 men's haircuts, $9 women's, etc.), but he always tipped me $20.
And then he got one of the other teachers (turned out to be his mistress, haha) to come get her hair/nails/eyebrows/etc done by me, and she always tipped well also. Then a few of the other administrators/teachers started coming to me. It was great, I was taking home $50-70 a week in tips, while just in school.
My best tip at my current job was $40 on a $120 color/highlight. And along with that $40, she gave me two bottles of her husband's homemade wine.

I like this style better.
Any trends to stay away from witty? Besides the fauxhawks, and tribal designs inscribed into the side of my head... I still don't get that whole thing.
