I would think Span Air would be MORE than happy to refund the full amount. Pretty sure they could sell your seat for more than $100

My hubby got the SpanAir number from Travelocity. So... not sure if he called Spain exactly but he did call a SpanAir person. The SpanAir person confirmed they would refund the whole amount, so what we had to do was after talking to the SpanAir agent we got Travelocity to again call SpanAir to confirm, and then refund the money.

And SpanAir was only available 9-5 eastern time to get this coordinated between them and Travelocity. But we basically just presented the arguement that they could make a lot more money by refunding us and selling the tickets at the right price, and that seemed to work.

So, it looks like we're about 28 hours out from departure, and all is well.....so far.

Quick question though; hass anyone looked into the visa requirements? I just realized that there might be an entry visa charge or something, but all I can find is the requirements for US citizens?

Edit: NM, I found it if anyone is interested in reading it http://www.voyage.gc.ca/countries_pa....asp?id=274000

No visa required.

Guys what does proof of suffecient funds mean? How do I show that? Show that my hotels are booked and paid for? Or just bring lots of cash? I was only planning on bringing 500 euros.

I'm not sure - I know the last time I was in Europe, I showed up with virtually no cash on hand because my Czech currency didn't get to my bank in time. But I did have a debit card and a visa - I don't remember ever being asked about sufficient funds. I'm sure 500 euros will be fine.

Are the tomorrow departure people all packed yet? We're almost ready. I'm stressed out beyond belief - I have issues with flying. Hopefully the ativan I have will knock me out for most of the flights.

If you have a return ticket, 500 euros, and you're only staying a week, you shouldn't have any problems.

Dan02 and I just moved in to a place as roomies and its a pain in the ass trying to not only pack but trying to remember which boxes I put stuff in. So I"m almost set to go. Its gonna be a blast. So who's all on the flight tomorrow from Toronto to Madrid? I'm on the 1300 flight to Tdot and Dan02 is on at 1430. Than both of us on the Toronto/Madrid flight at 2145 hours.

It's all good we have our tix and we're on the flight. Word to the wisr tho: get to the airport early. The flight is obviously overbooked, and even tho we checked in 4 hours early the seat selection was pretty limited.

And FWIW, I couldn't do the web checkin with my reservation code. When I phoned Air Canada, the not so nice lady said that if the code starts with the letter "Y" it won't work for web checkin.

Hopefully I still got a flight

Because it's a code share you can't do a web check in (except for people booked with orbitz for some reason?), you have to check in at the airport. The earliest you can do that is 4 hours before the flight, which is why I got here at 9am. Didn't want to risk not getting on!
