Super mailboxes suck. So are those self-serve checkout lines at the grocery store. And anything else where the idea is that they charge you the same yet give you a crappier level of service.

We do all our own sorting. Automated sorting is on its way eventually but for now it is us.
Mistakes happens. We sort to (give or take) 500 addresses with thousands of pieces of mail. If there is a relief carrier doing the route, there is a chance they have never seen the case before and are more prone to errors.
I do relief work and consider myself a good sorter as i rarely make mistakes. If I do, I usually catch it as I deliver so it seldom falls into the wrong hands. For something to constantly be misdelivered, as in your case, should not be happening. There are ways to prevent reoccurring mistakes.
But to those who want to string up a letter carrier for getting the wrong mail once every couple months, lighten up. God knows you never make a mistake at your job.

I certainly hope you try harder than that. I have no complaints with the postal system. I get the wrong mail on rare occasion. Only a few times in 10 years. So I have no complaints.

Three stories:
#1 - I heard the doorbell ring last Saturday morning when I wasn't expecting anybody. There were two well dressed people on my doorstep. I assumed they were JWs or Mormons, so I slipped back downstairs unseen. I went out later to see if they left "Watchtower" or something in my mailbox but instead I found the DVDs I ordered over the internet. Felt kinda bad not answering the door and thanking them for being honest.
#2 - Same thing happened a number of months ago where a stranger came to the door with something I had ordered. However, from outside he saw that I had just hooked up the Wii in my livingroom. He asked if I liked it and I said I just bought it and hadn't tried it yet, but if he wanted to help me test drive it. Normally I wouldn't invite a stranger into the house, but he seemed like a cool guy. We're friends now and we and some guys are getting a ticket package for the Senators. If Canada Post hands you lemons....
#3) This one wasn't Canada Post's fault at all, but I can't believe people that get mail that they know isn't theirs and just toss it. I cancelled a credit card and thought it had a zero balance, but I didn't get an auto-deduction in time and it had a $100 charge on it. However, they had apartment 301 as my apartment number, not 201. I knew the people above me.. not well, but we knew each others names at least. Even if they didn't they could have asked the landlord where the mail was supposed to go. There was even a bin in the lobby where misdelivered mail could go. But, no... they tossed every notice in the garbage. It went to a collection agency and I had to plead with new bank to let my mortgage go through. I any case, whenever I get something that isn't mine, I'll hand deliver it to its rightful owner.

Really? Given the amount of mail there is, I think ONE mis-delivered letter in two months would be incredibly amazing. Remember the episode of Sienfeld where he took over Newman's route? People think it's an easy job....

Considering that Canada Post has been in business for so long and that is what their business is about. Delivering mail from A to B. So I would expect a 99.99999 success percentage.

Well considering that a mail route is probably a few hundred houses, for one person to receive the wrong mail every couple of months means that the letter carrier (or person sorting?) is probably making hundreds of mistakes per month.
In my case, thousands.

I keep getting a neighbor's Netflix. It's not even from my street, or the same house # of a nearby street. I used to get my neighbor across the street's magazines several times a month. Also $125 worth of books from Amazon went ....somewhere........besides my house.

wendy's drivethru 75x? WTF.
I have no complaints on the mail front... except when you send something back as refused and they try and deliver it again the next day. You need to bust out a highlighter and stuff sometimes.

My building's carrier is awesome. They posted a note on the bank of mail boxes telling us that if we tape a note inside our box saying so, they won't deliver junk mail, but instead recycle it.

Laziness disguised as convenience. I'm not complaining.
That said, I do routinely get the mail of my immediate neighbours. It seems my carrier is confused about the differences between 3, 4 and 5.
