A couple more cool apps that I found.
First and I can't believe it's AirCanada doing this, but they now have an online app that tracks your flights and lets you check in. I was quiet surprised with the simple installation and set-up of the app myself. I expected to face a delay in connection, instructions that were useless and I was also half expecting my wallet to end up in at YVR. But it turned out to be a great little app and definitly worth the free download.

Second, for the people struglling with Celiac disease there's this one that my fiancee found called is that Gluten Free? Esentially it's a major database of everysingle major food and whether or not it's gluten free.

Two really solid apps, that I though some people on here would be intresting in.

Is That Gluten Free? isn't available on the Canadian store.
I told them they should put it there, but they need to figure out some logistics. Mostly because they want to check if there are differences between Canada and the US.

I will echo c.t.ner's post about the air canada app. I loaded it up and was shocked at how well it was layed out. Very impressive and something I would have expected from west jet.

You know what, that's actually pretty good to know. Great news that they are acutally recognizing the difference between the two countries. There are dozens, upon dozens of products in the states that are gluten free, but not gluten free in Canada.

Civilization is half of at $4.99, and it's waaay better than the lite version.. the lite version is very choppy and almost unusuable, but the full version is smooth as silk.

A quick review - based on this and c.t.ner's tweet I tried the air canada app.
It looks slick, but the functionality is pretty limited. While trying to test it I flew twice, booked two more, changed a flight and upgraded 3 flights.
Of all that I was only able to check in with one or two fewer click and track my flights (after manually telling iti wanted to track them). No changes, seat selection, upgrades etc.
If they connect the dots a bit better it could still be good though.

Not an expert but I think the answer is not soon, if ever. Apple signs exclusivity agreements with cell phone providers and Rogers is it in Canada.

Telus needs a GSM network in place right now if they wanted to support the iPhone.
But yeah, Rogers is the provider right now, so good luck getting it on another carrier unless you unlock it, which isn't all that hard.

Oh man, I LIVE by GolfCard. It's a score card as well as a rangefinder. It uses google satellite imagery, so if you're in an area not covered it won't work very well. It brings up a sat image of your current location and you can touch the screen to bring up a target and yardage. It's excellent!
It hooks up to oobgolf.com, so it has almost every course you can think of. Just select the course before you start out and you'll have the full scorecard available to you. It will let you track your score, # of puts, green in regulation, sand shots and the like. I never kept track of all that crap before this year, but now I love going through stats after a round.
Big big recommendation from me.

Here's an article from CNN on this. http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/09/01/i...ers/index.html
Could be within a couple of years by the sounds of things.

Have you seen people use an actual sky caddy? Does it compare at all to that?

I've been playing CIV Lite religiously for the past week and I'm shocked at how great it is. I'm planning on downloading the full civ version later this week. But this has to be my favorite game on the iPhone. Definitly worth it for fans of the orginial games.

I had to delete the full version because I thought I was gonna lose my job I played it so much. One thing with the full version is that it's also waaaay smoother than the lite version.

uhhhm? If your itunes is upgrading you up the bum, you are putting the cord in the wrong slot.
Or the very, very, right slot. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
