2009 NCAA football thread!!
First I would like to start out and say GO GATORS!!!
What does the moon and the Florida Gators have in common?
They both control the tide..
Speaking of Florida Gators Debose the WR that Meyer was hoping that would replace Harvin hurt his hamstring and looking like hes going to have surgery..
An alabama football player Brandon Deaderick who started 13 games last year at the devensive end postion was shot last night here in tuscaloosa. Doesn't look like he will miss much time.
Here is the link to the shooting. http://www.tuscaloosanews.com/articl...Deaderick-shot-

I'm torn this year. I've been a Gators fan since I got into NCAA ball, but I've been going to Vols games the last couple of years, hanging out with lots of Vols alumni, and there's a good chance I could end up going to UT in a couple of years.

Bryce Brown could be a Heisman candidate in a couple of years. Tennessee is a program on the rise.

It will be interesting to see if Montana has two Walter Payton award finalists this year. Sophomore RB Chase Reynolds and Junior WR Marc Mariani are both strong candidates.
I fully expect to see them in the Championship game in Chattanooga again this year.

I'm excited about Oregon's season. They've got as tough an opening to their season as I can remember them having (on the road at Boise, and then Purdue, Utah, and California), so at least we'll have a good idea early of where they stand.

I'm stoked that I get to go to Knoxville to see the Vols play Georgia in a month. Watching Eric Berry in person is a treat.

now that the fiance attends university of Alabama and her dad is a Dean at the school we got 5 tickets to games this year. I know TENN and LSU come to town those are the games I want to watch. I grew up in Florida and a gator by heart. I can pull for Bama as long as they are not playing florida.

Yeah, I don't really have any allegiances to the Gators. I only got into college football a few years ago and became a big Reggie Nelson fan. Then the next year I on them to win the NC at the beginning of the year and they did (the big upset over OSU). So I've been a fan since then.

Just a head's up to the Canadians here - Oregon @ Boise St is airing on The Score Thursday night at 8:15. Should be a great game between two (currently) mid teen ranked teams.
I've been cheering for the Washington Huskies since I got heavily into NCAA football (although I have no allegiance there). Since Shaw HD now has added the Big 10 Network at no cost I'm trying to follow that conference more and am jumping on the Penn State bandwagon.

Ahh the big 11 sucks.
Its nice being the top dog in college football again. I slightly remember it when I was in florida during the mid 90s.

I know USC has a history of losing to lesser teams but how do you see Oregon's season relying on them getting past the first few weeks without a loss?
Oregon's, like every other team in the PAC-10, season rely's 100% on whether they can beat USC or not.

It might have something to do with the fact that USC has a freshman quarterback, playing at Autzen (one of the toughest places to play) on halloween night.

Freshman QB yes....but every other guy on the offense started last year. The Trojans wont have trouble scoring, thats as much of a slam dunk as there will be in CFB this year.
The questions for them are on defense where they lost 9 starters.

Unless you're new to CFB you know that an offense like USC's relies heavily on QB play, if he struggles they will struggle to score. That said, Corp is sitting there waiting to fill in and I don't see them both struggling.

Purdue shouldn't be that tough of a game, they tend to show up 2-3 times a year and blow the rest of the year. Just hope they don't pick that game as one of the ones they care to play. Utah isn't the team they were last year, but they might still be pretty good, a real wildcard there.
Those other 2 games are tough, gotta give Oregon credit for the non-conference schedule, not ducking anyone (excuse the horrible pun).
