Gotta be this time of year. Visions had a sale this weekend to celebrate the grand opening of their new stores in Grande Prairie and Vancouver or something.

It is usually the weekend AFTER the labour day weekend. I know it always used to be the same weekend the Calgary Corporate Challenge started, which was the weekend after (although my company hasn't been in it for a couple years, so it may have changed).

But I do recall in the past few years the sale hadn't been quite as good; similar to boxing day sales. There will be a few loss-leaders, but the rest will rest be fairly standard.

They haven't had it in the big 4 building in a few years. It's now in each store. The sale has not been great the last few years, but I'm willing to bet with the cold economy we'll see some great deals.

Hm, wife said she might like a satellite radio, might have to check it out this weekend.
Any suggestions for a satellite radio? Should be portable so she can carry it between her car and her office. Is it going to work in her office; do they penetrate buildings?

I have the Sirius Stiletto, and it does pretty much exactly what you say. You can walk around with it as a portable device and you can dock it in your car, office, or home as well. Amazing little thing. I take it on the bus, out running, on road trips, where ever I go. In my office downtown I have no issues with reception, but I do have a signal receiver pointing out the window, to the north.

It can receive signals in the interior of buildings, but it depends on the situation. There are a few factors.

Yeah, those are the expensive ones, I think a friend has one too. Very nice, but probably too much $$ for now.

EDIT: Hm, the first generation ones seem to be not too bad:

EDIT2: Wow, that plays over Wifi if the satellites are out of range too!
