I would burn the building down if something ever happened to my buddy.

I figure just getting some dog shampoo and using the hose is best to avoid situations like that one poster had of his pup kicking the bucket.

Takes 15 minutes at most. The dog is part of the family, I'd rather keep him out of those dirty dog washes and clean him in the yard.

Between dog parks and doggy life in general, I don't know how anyone can assume that they will somehow keep their dog clean by avoiding a place like the dog wash.

No offense, Jayems, but I think that your old boss might be a little crazy to assume that the dog wash is what did his dog in. I mean, they walk down the street sniffing other dogs' piss and crap, they constantly try to eat garbage or whatever smells good to them, they sniff asses, they bite and chew stuff that lives on the floor... And the dog wash is what got him sick? I just don't see it.

So . . . . . it sounds like your boss took a puppy that interacted with other dogs and caught Parvo Virus . . . . and all of this happened to coincidentally occur at a dog wash.

Because antibodies from the mother can inactivate the vaccine until the puppy is 16 to 18 weeks of age, preventing contact with infected animals or contaminated environments is critical.

You have to be very careful with puppies and parvo in their first months of life.

The dog wash per se likely had nothing to do with the death of the puppy.
