We take a crunchy, all-beef taco, smother it in nacho cheese, lettuce, tomato and our special southwestern sauce. Then we wrap it in a soft, flour tortilla with a layer of refried beans in-between.
Jason: Sweet!
Announcer: Then we wrap that in a savory tortilla with a middle layer of Monterey Jack cheese.
Andy: Awesome!
Announcer: And it gets even awesomer, when we take a deep-fried gordita shell, smear on a little of our special "guacamolito" sauce and wrap that around the outside.
Bill: [ trying to hold this mighty taco] This is pretty big..
Announcer: But it gets even bigger! Because we bake it in a corn husk filled with pico de gallo, then then wrap that in an authentic Parisian crepe, filled with egg, gruyere, merguez sausage and Portobello mushroom.
Jason: [ getting restless ] Can I eat in now?
Announcer: Sure. But not before we take the whole thing and wrap that in a Chicago style deep dish meat lovers pizza!
Andy: Pizza? Now that's what I call a taco!
Announcer: Well, it's not a Taco Town taco until we roll it up in a blueberry pancake, dip it in batter and deep-fry it until it's golden brown. Then we serve it in all commemorative tote bag filled with spicy vegetarian chili. It's 15 great tastes all rolled into one.

I don't understand why everyone is up in arms about this.
Is it really that much worse than a regular KFC sandwich?
Would a meal deal with this sandwich really be worse than say a 3 peice meal deal?
Sure it's bad for you, but it's not like this is some huge leap in horrible food. A step in the wrong direction sure, but I've seen a lot worse.

I agree.
2 chicken patties, no fatty white bun full of empty carbs. You obviously wouldnt eat this as a sandwich, would use a knife and fork.
I think this is just once again the work of the Health Nazi/PETA Army at work. Stick to eating your organic vegetables and stay out of our way.

I appreciate the brainstorming, but I'm just not sure that they can 'melt the chicken down until it is a liquid"

Why do you feel that just because you can and want to eat something like that it is also morally correct? Food like that makes people who suck the healthcare system dry.
I'd go so far as to say its worse than smoking. Lets compare:
180 lbs male electrician who smokes but eats properly and has some kind of exercise (other than the demanding job) does X amount of measurable work in a 40 hour week.
280 lbs male who does not smoke but eats like crap and has no exercise other than the (demanding) job does X amount of measurable work in a 40 hour week.
Who do you think actually gets more done? Buddy who is proportioned, can fit into tight places and has some stamina, or buddy who despite not smoking is huffing and puffing by noon and has a much slower pace?

Shall my calculations include a smoke break every half hour?

No, include a morning 15 min break, 30 min lunch, and another 15 min in the afternoon.
I'll assume that the smoker has one cig with each of the breaks and two at lunch. I used to smoke so I do have some idea about nic'ing out.
I guess where I'm going with this is that you only die from smoking once, and very quickly from a relatively small group of diseases (cancer, emphazyma, etc etc) whereas fatties take a lot longer to die thus having more trips to the hospital to deal with a whole huge plethora of diseases that are all entirely preventable by not eating like an idiot.

How do you define eating properly and eating like crap?
And what about 280 lb males who smoke? Or the 180 lb smokers who don't exercise?

Fatty white bun? I am not saying that bleached white bread isn't unhealthy, but to consider it "fatty" relative to two pieces of deep fried chicken is laughable at best. Chicken and turkey if properly cooked are good lean meats, but when they are breaded and deep fried those health benefits are thrown out the window.
I like a steak just as much as the next person and I think PETA is full of crap, but that doesn't mean that this doesn't sound like a god awful creation which is essentially a cardiac bomb with 31 grams of fat. But if you want to criticize people for making healthy lifestyle choices...
Lastly, the combo that it is advertised with is for that "sandwich" along with fries and a pop.... so I am guessing a vast majority of those purchasing this thing aren't overly concerned about their waistline.

To be fair they're reall only replacing the bun with 1 piece of chicken.
Unless of course we're just talking about a bacon and cheese sandwich.

Would it make any difference if this thing was served differently?
IE: Two deep fried chicken breasts laid out side by side on a fancy white plate, garnished with 4 pieces of bacon and two slices of velveeta cheese with a small bowl of dipping sauce on the side.
I have a feeling most people wouldnt freak out if this was the case, yet because this is packaged like it is and rolled all into one...its immoral?
Good grief.

To be fair this sandwhich really isn't that high in calories. It's much lower than any meal at a sit down restaurant. Someone posted the Earls etc.. caloric information for comparison.
I have about 10% bodyfat. I most definitely plan on trying one of these. Its a 600 calorie meal, it's not the end of the world.
As for the effect on my heart, there is a lot of research which points to the fact heart problems are more related to overall calorie intake than fat or cholesterol intake. So having the extra patty may be healthier for you than having the bun.

Where does it say it's 600?

Any time you can bury your face between two tasty thighs with a secret sauce in the middle is okay in my books.

But what if the secret sauce is between two breasts instead of thighs? Still want to bury your face?

No, I'm one of those people who actually believes you should critically look at information and what you are eating instead of blindly deciding something is bad because it looks that way.
