We're not exactly talking about parents of year here though. They let their kids sleep over at a 40 year old man's house with no supervision. Not to mention, there were previous allegations of abuse and the man had some very bizarre mannerisms that might make someone think he was not living in the same world as us.

The parents were pretty wreckless in this case and I wouldn't put it passed them to take money over a prosecution.

Oh man Jay Mohr is just killing it on the Jim Rome show right now, here's a taste:

Looks like Michael Jackson taught Magic Johnson a thing or about ball-handling.

Looks like Michael Jackson got his wish before he died, to be a man in a minor.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propofol

There are reports of self-administration of propofol for recreational purposes.[19][20] Short-term effects include mild euphoria, hallucinations, and disinhibition.[21][22] Long-term use has been reported to result in addiction.[23][24] Such use of the drug has been described amongst medical staff such as anaesthetists who have access to the drug.[23] However, abuse of the drug is relatively rare due to its potency and the level of monitoring required to take it safely, and it has not yet been scheduled by the US Drug Enforcement Administration.[25] The steep dose-response curve of the drug makes such abuse very dangerous without proper monitoring, and at least three deaths from self-administration have been recorded, including the death of singer Michael Jackson.[26][27][28]

So he was a drug addict; kind of like Johnny Cash.

His Doctor administered the drug. It's murder. Addiction doesn't have much to do with it.

Murder?

Slight possibility of manslaughter but not even close to murder

Timeline
-- At about 1:30 a.m., Murray gave Jackson 10 mg of Valium.
-- At about 2 a.m., he injected Jackson with 2 mg of the anti-anxiety drug Ativan.
-- At about 3 a.m., Murray then administered 2 mg of the sedative Versed.
-- At about 5 a.m., he administered another 2 mg of Ativan.
-- At about 7:30 a.m., Murray gave Jackson yet another 2 mg of Versed while monitoring him with a device that measured the oxygen saturation of a his blood.
-- At about 10:40 a.m., "after repeated demands/requests from Jackson," Murray administered 25 mg of propofol, the document said.
"Jackson finally went to sleep and Murray stated that he remained monitoring him. After approximately 10 minutes, Murray stated he left Jackson's side to go to the restroom and relieve himself. Murray stated he was out of the room for about two minutes maximum. Upon his return, Murray noticed that Jackson was no longer breathing," the affidavit said.

No question.

In this case, though, the doctor is going to be held accountable for administering a fatal dose.

His death has been ruled a homocide. Murder/manslaughter...whatever...a doctor knowingly administered a fatal dose of propofol. It's homocide.

I know, I found it by accident. I expected that the Elvis factor would eventually catch up to this guy. With all the obsession over this guy, it is amazing that crap like that hasn't been all over the place. Maybe it is and I don't care.... either way it is messed up.
