Anyone else Paint Ball?
Just curious to know if anyone else ever goes paint balling? Just went today for 5 hours, which was my second time going out and I had a blast.
Anyone else go paintballing? I plan on getting my own suit and facemask now, and going regularly with the same group of people (there were 40 of us, most of which were chinese who spoke no English!).
Oh and I pwned by the way, hour and hours of Call of Duty paid off!

I did it once a long time ago, one of the most fun things I've ever done in my life. Unfortunately at the time I couldn't afford my own gear, and just never had the opportunity to do it again. But yea, it's way more fun that any computer war game, and an awesome workout too.

Went for a stag a few months ago, and am going for another stag in a few weeks. It really is an incredible workout. Just running around with that damn mask on is difficult. I'll never get into it enough to buy my own gear, but it's a great time.

I hate it when you go with friends, then these super hardcore ######s show up, and you have to play them. One guy I played had an automatic paint-ball gun, he had different clips full of paint balls (that were attached to the gun) so he wouldn't have to sit down and reload like the rest of us. Other then that it's actually really fun, until you get popped in the head.

Went once and I'm not a fan. Suprising because I loved LaserQuest as a teen and I play shooter games. I was using the best "rental gun" and anything more than 30 feet just wasn't anywhere near accurate as the paintball would veer off to the left. So I think I got spoiled from LaserQuest accuracy.
I went to the outdoor place in Cochrane. With all the hardcore players, the weirdos and the all-you-can-eat hot dogs on a nasty grill, I just couldn't get into the vibe.

I play fairly regularly...Bunch of buddies bought guns so we go play in the bush once in a while. It's a blast. I'm gonna bring my gun down to Calgary I think and hit up some courses around here.
Worst injury I've ever seen was when one of my really good friends, who'd been talking smack saying he wouldn't take a mercy all day got snuck up on by his younger brother. Being as we were tired of the no mercy comments, he fired for the back...ball dropped and got my buddy square in the testicles from behind...while he was wearing a can. So that was a trip to the hospital! Actually, the guys who run the course still remember us for that whenever we go back there.

I've been 6 or 7 times for stags/bdays etc but I don't like it. The guns aren't very accurate, the pellets are way too expensive, and the stupid masks fog up constantly. I've also played with raging ######bags who keep shooting with their $900 custom gun 10 shots after you've put your hands in the air. Plus you can never tell who's on your team when everyone is wearing camo and the only distinguishing feature between teams is a 6 inch blue ribbon tied onto one arm.

It depends on what kind of paintball you are playing.... There are generally 2 classes of play.... Speedball and then woodsball.. Speedball is all the rage right now in the paintball scene. Its fun and fast . I guess i was one of the DB's who owned their 900 dollar gun, My gun was accurate, but when the gun shoots 20 balls a second paint does start to cost some money.... I loved playing but it got way to expensive and all my friends quit so I sold my gun and moved on. I would love get out there and play some woodsball... I still have a paintball pistol i could play with but none of my friends are into it.......

Could everyone who is saying they had a negative experience with paintball please say where and what style you played?
It plays a HUGE role.

Best time I ever had was years ago when they were still using the pump guns. Once shot they you had to pump your gun to reload. It forced you to be more strategic and really aim rather than just shoot like crazy and just hope one of your 50 bullets hits the dude.

I went to Bragg Creek Paintball. We were a huge group so they combined two fields for us, but it was still too much of a clusterf***. Well that course was.
My favorite (and my friends) was the "The Rock" and "The Fortress" when they combined them and we did offense and defense, that was super fun, not a clusterf***, just good fun. My friend mercy killed three guys in one house when I was reloading in the safe zone (the house is right there). Then I won it with a mercy kill at their base. I saw him, yelled mercy, he aimed at me, so I bailed down and yelled mercy and he said "OK! OK!! MERCY!!", . I would have destroyed him if he wanted me too.
Was looking at the Capture the Flag one one their website, but I go with a friend who gets a discount ($50 for rental of everything, free air, 1000 balls) at the Bragg Creek one, and he goes with a ton of people, which is a lot of fun.
Me and my friend are thinking of getting our own clothes and headmask for it, the stuff they rent out sucks.
Had a real good time, and since we were such a big group we just played with ourselves, and for the most part we all used the rental stuff, only a few had their own guns, and they weren't any of the $900 ones.
I have 3 welts on my leg, and 1 on my arm. I think I have one on the butt too but I haven't looked yet. Someone got hit in the hand and drew blood, while he was walking off dead.

CTF near Cochrane. More of a sniper role, someone comes into the open to make their way towards me and I'd pop up for a shot or two. But unless they were fairly close, there was no accuracy.

No, I mercy killed someone, but he wanted to shoot back. I would have made him bleed if he didn't accept my mercy kill. Mercy kill (if your unaware) is close quarters kill, no shooting, you have advantage, so you mercy kill (don't fire).

Haha I don't know what I was thinking when I read it. I read it as 'my friend Mercy, killed...' not 'my friend mercy'. My bad!

Heres the proper way to paintball:
Swim shorts (cup of course) boots and headgear, trust me, after a round of that you won't like the sport so much again...great painfull memorys though!

Nah, we just wear coveralls. Smelly, dirty, looked like they aren't washed ever. But they did the job.
I wore shorts and t-shirt underneath. Got pegged on the knee and the side of the knee. Only a thin layer of coverall so it was basically direct since I was kneeling (tight around the knee). Got pegged on the bare calf as well. Stings for a few seconds, but it isn't too bad.
