Agreed. Bell service is pretty much the worst out there (along with BMW).
I can't stand placing a call into them. It takes you at least 10 minutes to get through all their voice automation crap to talk to someone.

I think with any of these ISP/telecom companies, you're screwed if you ever want to change anything. If you don't rock the boat, it chugs along.
I like my Bell HD PVR and that I can add an external HDD to it. *shrugs*

3 words, Free To Air. If they are sending their signal to your property you have every right to receive it. Learn to write scripts and tell the greedy losers at Bell to go to hell!

F*** Bell. I'll never use them for anything ever again. I don't care what changes they make or if they're the only one with something that I want. I'll go without it before those thieves and liars get any (more) of my money.

You spelled "Telus" wrong.
It's funny how people have these different experiences with companies. Personally, I've never had any issues with Bell (Mobility only). Any minor problems I had were resolved without any hassle.
Telus, on the other hand...Replace "Bell" with "Telus" in 4X4's rant, and that pretty much summarizes my thoughts on them.
I'd start using a tin can on a string before I ever gave them my business again.

My experience was with satellite. For cellular I've always used Rogers and never had problems. Of course, there are probably people out there that would take my rant and insert Rogers.

Thats the beauty of having to deal with companies with millions and millions of customers, and thousands of workers. You can't please everyone and everyone has their stories about X company did this, but Y company has been amazing. The next person will hate Y company, but love X company.
IMO if you are not happy with the service you have the right as the consumer to let them know how you feel by canceling the service. Do you honestly think crying on the phone will change the way your experience goes? Hit them where it hurts, the pocket book!

I have you beat my friend. I have a 1000 and a 2700 that actually still work. I think they're about 10-12 years old now, I've lost count.
I honestly like Bell a lot more than Shaw because I get all the region's channels (so eg. 4 or 5 CTV channels). It's awesome because I can watch things at almost every hour. What I do find crappy is their customer service, but meh, I can live with it.

I remember hating Royal Bank a million years ago for something and vowed to never go back, now I don't remember what it was even about, same thing with Telus. Still won;t go back, but cannot remember why.

Yea, the details are starting to get a bit fuzzy for me, but the hatred still burns as hot as ever. They lied and lied and lied to me about various things such as what the final bill was going to be, that they were sending me boxes to return their receivers, that the account was closed and paid in full... Until a year later when I got a letter from a collection agency, which "didn't have any details on why I owed money, just that I owed it", which I then called bell about and was told that they couldn't tell me either because they had sent the file to the collection agency.... SO I FU**ING PAID IT AND THEN THEY DID IT AGAIN ANOTHER YEAR LATER!!!!!!!!!!!
Fotze's right. They're doing some illegal sh1t in their billing department. Making up charges and then sending them to collection agencies, years after an account has been closed, and then refusing to divulge what the charges are for because afterall, the account is closed.

I've had Bell satellite for years.........I like the programming etc.
But I would rather have testicular cancer than deal with them over the phone...
Is it that hard to hire people who speak english? I always get the "indian accent guy", whom I can't understand.....or the "french accent guy" whom I cannot understand either.
I usually hang up on them and try again until I get someone who can speak my language.....

How do you explain the french accents?
I just assumed the call center was in Ontario/Quebec where there are french(1st language) speaking folks and alot of immigrants........
I don't have a problem with immigrants....but it seems like a mistake to hire people who have just recently picked up english to work at a call center for a Canadian company.

Funny, I often press 2 for French to get somebody here in Canada; somebody who may have actually seen a Bell receiver and knows what I'm talking about.
I usually don't put any effort into speaking French with any kind of accent, the CSR will quickly switch to English, and I have a much better chance of getting what I want.

When I was with Bell I used to do this too, except when they started speaking french I would just say "Oh crap! I must have pressed the wrong button! Sorry." They would almost always revert to english instead of making me wait again. Only once did the person say they didn't understand english well enough to help me. (he took about 2 minutes to say that while trying to figure out the correct english words, so I believed him )

Since dealing with them once before (my receiver was popping up the info screen randomly), I now always ask for Tech 3. They are very nice english speaking Canadians that always get to the heart of any problem without going through all that usual scripted bs.
The thing about Bell and tech support or csr, if you figure out a few things as to how to handle them, you'll never jump through hoops again.
As for getting deals from Retentions. It's been going on for a few years that if you threaten to leave they will give you a sweet deal. I presently have 11 themes, all HD channels, the movie package and a HD PVR rental. They promo'd my HD package & PVR plus 40% off my entire bill for a year. My bill is currently $64 a month.
I don't care how bad there customer service is (although i really have had no issues with them). When I'm paying that amount for what i have - then they are all good in my books.
