Super 7 Lottery Done
The super seven lottery will be dead and gone as of sept. 18 (last draw)
This irks me because I didn't mind paying $2 for a ticket with 3 selections (of 7 #'s each) on it. I usually by 1 or 2 of these per month, just for fun. a couple of bucks and 3 chances at winning something.
I stopped buying 649 when they raised it to $2 for 1 selection, a little pricey for 1 chance.

Super 7 will be replaced with a new game called lotto max. Basically it's a newer, more expensive version of super 7. The only difference being, you will pay $5 for 3 selections (of 7 #'s each) on one ticket.
LOTTO MAX: http://www.wclc.com/Miscellaneous_pa...ming_soon.html
IMO This sucks.
Oh well, I guess it's a moot point, I never go to Ontario, so I'll never win the jackpot anyway.

I like Payday. I wish I could win something on that lottery, but the idea of $1000 a week for life lends itself to awesome "what if" scenarios, and excludes the "what if I spend it all at once on hookers and blow before ending up dead in a ditch?"
New lottery is a meh for me too, for exactly the same reason: cost is too high.

Yeah. He said the exact same thing about Ontario and winning. It sure does seem that way, though.

Yup.
A large percentage of the jackpots are won out east (for obvious reasons?) but they always seem to give the $100,000 "extra" prizes to people in the west.......to keep them quiet

Don't they only offer the extra in the west?

I would complain about this but my gambling addiction bets $10 that I will buy the tickets anyway

Meh, I dropped out of the lottery pool at work because I can think of better things to spend $4 a week on. That and the fact that you have a better chance of being struck by lightning than winning the lottery was the clincher. I can have 200 bucks worth of fun once a year or just continually drop money into the trash.

WOW thats exactly what the guy at the ATB in edmonton paid for 2 years before stopping, now he's in charge of hiring 11 new employee's to replace the ones who won 35 million.

If it's a $5 ticket, I fully expect there to be a larger starting jackpot... say 4 million? And it should jump higher each time (more so than 6/49). If not, it will be a complete rip.
And I see the debate has already started. Debbie Downers read AND posts about their distain about destroying a couple bucks a month instead of just staying out of the thread. Mine goes here, for others it's smokes, coffee, coke, etc. So I basically buy a pack of smokes every month, or a couple of coffees

I look at the lottery pool we have at work as a form of insurance. Can you imagine if they won and you "didn't want to waste your money"?

well to me personally its not that bad. i usually spend $5-10$ on super 7 so really its not a big deal. having said that - what they need to lose is the payday lottery that is a joke

$5-$10 on super 7 gets you between 7 and 14 selections (chances)
$5-$10 on Lotto Max will get you exactly 3 or 6 selections (chances)
This is my point. For 2 bucks (super 7) I get 3 selections and a few seconds of fun.
There's something wrong when even playing the Lottery is too expensive.

Yes, You're right.
EXTRA is available only in the Prairie Provinces and Territories.
I still say it exists to try to keep us quiet.
