I was there again today, it was much quicker getting in, but it was still a bit of a wait to get out. Nothing outrageous. There was definitely a lot less people.

This thread needs more pics and more chicks.

Since malls give me major depression, I think I'll avoid this one until all the hype is died down and then I'm only exploring out of curiosity.

I won't be going up to spend my $100 BassPro gift card for a couple of months by the sounds of it.

For those of you that went to Pro Hockey, just how much trouble will I get into if I go into that store...is it the leave the wallet in the glovebox kind of place?

Sucks to be you. The worst traffic has been around 9 PM because everyone still in the mall is leaving at once as it closes. It might even be faster to take the back route up to Airdrie, then come over to the highway and back down to Calgary if traffic is as bad then as the RCMP are making it out to be.

I was just at the mall...I won't go back. Nothing good, for a guy at least. Boring food court and boring stores. One or two stores for guys, the rest are junk. I hope it does not become an Eu Claire market soon. There is a store that sells wine, but it looks like you have to traverse the mall to get into it. I did not find one real sale. Getting there was a pain and getting out was a REAL pain. Twenty plus minutes just to basically leave the mall area, another twenty to get to the highway.
Not worth it, I don't know what will ever get me to go back.

What if they put an amusement park, a water park, a themed hotel, and some dolphins in it?

My thoughts too. I walked most of the mall today and its nothing special. Will be interesting to see how it does after all the hype dies down. I'm leaving right now and was hoping it would be dead but nope...still a total gongshow. Reminds me of 2am closing of nightclubs. Way too much chaos and idiots trying to get out at once.

It's nice for the people in Airdrie for sure! Not really sure what the draw will be for most Calgarians though. Pretty much the same stores with a few exceptions.

I was there on Thursday night from 700-830 and went today from 100-200pm. Both times the traffic was not bad. Finding a table at lunch time in the food court was a bit of a challenge though. I suppose once that stage is gone, it'll be better.

Once the ring road opens fully it will be the closest mall to the north third of the city. Deerfoot Mall was already dead, and this will finish it off. It's probably got an effective market area of 350,000 people, with Bass Pro bringing in people from the rest of the area.
