Demo is slated for release on XBL Gold only. Silver and PSN slated for Aug 27th.
(since the PCz on Xbox won the EASHL, 360 gets the demo first)
...just kidding, of course XBL Gold exclusive for one week."
i think thats silly. if xbox wants to restrict the download only to its gold members to help sell gold memberships, thats cool. but why should ps3 owners suffer because m$ wants more subscription revenue???
i know last year psn got it earlier, but wasn't that just because microsoft was having problems getting it released?

It's fun! I like the game play this year over last. Especially the no-pass-assist setting (though I'm sure there's a way to turn it back on).
The play-after-the-whistle is fun too. It adds a new element; I was able to get one-off minors to Cooke and Lidstrom. Who wouldn't want that if you're the Pens? It's a bit "arcadey" but it's fun. I'm sure there are other things that can happen from it too, like injuries etc. I got into a fight late in the game after a post-whistle scrum.
Board play is awesome. It takes a bit getting used to (as in remembering to do it), but it's really well done and it adds a huge element to the game.
Sweet! I would understand that Silver members have to wait another week since they don't pay for LIVE, but PS3-ers shouldn't because they have nothing to do with payed-memberships. Hmm, that doesn't really make any sense, but what I mean is that if PS3 has to wait an extra week, it's most likely Sony holding it back for some reason.

Or like Torches quote said, Xbox gets it first for winning the EASHL

No, it's just simply due to Microsoft gaining exclusivity. All EA demos of recent have been going to Xbox Live Gold for a week before PSN.
Err... Are you just talking about demos? Sony has lots of proprietary titles.
Except that sony doesn't seem to throw money at developers to keep things like titles and dlc exclusive. They lost metal gear, Final Fantasy (sort of), Grand Theft Auto DLC and Fallout 3 DLC off the top of my head. I can't recall the quote, but somebody from sony said they wouldn't be offering money to keep exclusive titles exclusive.
I certainly don't care about sony losing titles like MGS or Final Fantasy because ps3 users don't technically lose anything. However, with things like GTAIV and Fallout we did.
This demo is a much smaller example of this, but it still bothers me that sony appears to rarely get into the business of throwing some money around to give their something special. Ideally I'd prefer neither company do it, but if MS is going to go ahead I'd like to see sony play ball.
-board play was kind of interesting, I was able to engage defensemen better on the forecheck and teammates are smart enough to get open on the boards for you to kick it to them
-puck physics are improved, it definitely doesn't seem like the puck is magnetized to the players (for example you see guys stretch out to take passes)
-after the whistle scrums are pretty cool, although I'd be concerned that people would drive me crazy in online games (I took a shot with Hudler after the whistle and Orpik chased me down, which was awesome)
-the first person fighting is better than last years fighting, it's not great or anything though
-Kronwall batted a rebound out of the air and out of the zone, players moved to catch pucks that were floating by, goalies look better than ever.
I will be reserving a copy soon. I'm really looking forward to the full game.

They would get roughing penalties, at least it happened to me, so I don't think it will be as annoying as last year.
