I bid on 2 guys in the final open batch.
Knew I wasn't going to get guys like Perrin, Cooke or Grier (and I only need 4th line RW types) after I made the Smyth trade so I went for guys that suit that role.

I was tempted to take a flyer on Peter Forsberg for 2 years at 500k and send him to the minors. If he came back to the NHL and was a point per game player I'd have like a 65 guy next year making nothing!

I offered a fairly big chunk to Perrin, whether it's enough or not I don't know. Put a bid in on Paetsch as well, more of a flyer bid than anything.

Frick the Red Wings just signed Bertuzzi, he'll probably be the best signing this summer now. 
I think Ken Holland read my rant and decided he should target Bertuzzi. Than again he's only paying him 1.5 a year for ONE year!
I wouldn't give those guys two years at those prices, Than again I would have been offering 3.03 or something like that to Grier to make sure I beat out a 3 million dollar bid.
