Rep. Barney Frank lashed out at protester who held a poster depicting President Barack Obama with a Hitler-style mustache during a heated town hall meeting on federal health care reform.

No really the smackdown I was expecting, but the dining room table blast was a good one.

I mean, I think the health care plan is doomed and not really what the U.S. needs, but any attempt to provide more people with access to doctors is commendable. If I remember correctly the doctors that Hitler provided the Jews with didn't really help with their health care. Ay-yi-yi.
I like Frank. He is one of the few Democrats with any backbone. Republicans to me seem to be staunch in their convictions and usually wrong. Democrats are wishy-washy in their support of the right things. It's no wonder the Republicans can get things done when in power while the Democrats would have trouble passing a bill to provide food to starving orphans.
Not a fan of Frank AT ALL.....but if he gave someone a piece of his mind over that he deserves a pat on the back. Whether you don't like the President or love him, as an American I believe you ought to show some freaking respect.

Same here. Frank is one of the biggest idiots on Capital Hill, and one of the reasons the US got into a financial crisis, but good on him for laying the smack down.

That is hilarious. How did he get people to overspend, live outside their means and then single-handedly pull the rug out from under them all at once again? I also missed the part about how he wrote all of the over-valued mortgages and then securitized all of them. Oh yeah, and how did he manage to cause the massive distrust between the banks last fall so that credit virtually froze?
I'm no expert on Frank, but I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that he didn't cause all of that by himself!

Where did Azure say he was solely responsible?
Frank was one of the leading proponents of 'creative financing' and a believer that every American has the RIGHT to home ownership. He played a very large role in the crisis.

The best part about this is how the girl just sits there completely dumbfounded ... she's completely floored that someone actually called her on the crap she was spewing.

Exactly.
And if you want to talk about someone that wasn't living within their means, and spending money they didn't have....Frank did that too.
ROFL at blaming this guy for the recession... even in part... hyperbole much?
Back on topic, Frank is not very impressive defending the Obama health plan beyond the soundbites, because while I think universal health care is the right thing, even for the US, the plan as it stands can't help but whittle away at the private plans until they die (at least the way I read it).
In the longer videos with Frank (they're everywhere, check CNN, Youtube, etc, about 6 minutes long), that point is made by a greyish-haired small businessman, who then gets sidetracked by the raise taxes response. Then everyone starts yelling and the discussion turns to taxes. That was too bad, because the small businessman hit on the biggest problem. The small businessman should have challenged Frank's assertion that the $2 billion the government was going to spend "one time only" would work.
Its silly to think that it would work. It has too many potential problems... but that hasn't been hashed out enough.
The Obama-is-Nazi chick is a great example of why I'm worried about our friends to the south.
Edit: Looking again, the small-business guy raised the tax thing himself... its his own fault eroding away his best argument and the point of the town hall which on first viewing I blamed on Frank.
From their point of view, the mainstream media is just hyping this clip to paint all Obamacare opposers with the same "crazy" brush.........propaganda if you will...
