Tech Ninjas of CP:
I have a Xbox 360 Elite. Approximately 9 months old. A couple months ago I noticed that my wireless controller did not maintain a charge after being hooked up to the console via USB cable. It works fine when the USB cable is hooked up, but as soon as I disconnect, the controller goes dead.
I thought it might be the battery, so I went out and purchased a new rechargable battery for the controller. Same thing.
I've tried switching controllers. No difference.
I've tried both USB outlets. No difference.
When I initially hook up the controller to be charged, the light on the cord on the end that attaches to the remote turns red, but then almost immediately, turns green.
After everything I've tried, should I assume that it's the cord and not the USB ports or the controller? But the cord still supplies power to the controller to turn it on and use it, but does not recharge the battery?
What am I missing here?
