C'mon, there's got to be an intrepreter around somewhere - would have been nice to get some quotes from the man that tamed Tiger.
The relentless pursuit of Golf by Koreans was bound to result in this some day. I've met a lot of Korean golfers on the courses and gained an appreciation as to how fanatical Koreans about golf. Golf and Starcraft that is...

Speak for yourself! Yang pulled out his balls, showed them to Tiger, and there was nothing Tiger could do about it.
That approach shot on 18 was unbelievable.

Tiger is clearly on the decline.

Tiger Woods played awful golf today and still was 1 shot away going to the 18th hole. Just couldnt get the putter working today, this could have easily been a blow away win but it just didn't go that way today.
How about Padrigs collapse? Hard to watch that...

Yup. Gotta give Yang credit though. He shot 67-70 on the weekend while everyone around him collapsed.
Tiger doesn't often collapse.. but when he does... somebody has to be there to take advantage.

I agree, if Yang had made a few more of those puts he could have easily won by more than 3.
If Mickelson hadn't played so awful he could have won this tournament in a blow away.

This was great to see. Good drama. That shot on 18 by Yang was off the charts, same with the chip in on 14.
Today's golf coverage was proof of why I dislike the Tiger machine (not so much his golf, but the media overcoverage). As my wife pointed out, you would never have guessed Tiger had lost by how much he was on TV - Yang interviews were pretty scarse (and yes, I appreciate he does not speak english, and his post round interview was not that great given having to have an interpreter).
The way the announcers seemingly are pulling for him, it reminds me of homer hockey announcers in Edmonton (of course with a much different sports product).
Anyway great win by Yang.

While Tiger brought a lot of people the sport of golf, I think him constantly winning also turns a lot away. Without competition, it becomes boring. Having guys be able to beat him (even if its a different guy each time) is key to keeping excitement in the game.

People like dominance though. People loved the Tiger Slam and Tiger winning by 15. Huge ratings.
I'm not sure a different guy everytime is a good thing. Tiger needs one guy to challenge him all the time. The last two weeks with Padraig (sans-water) has been great. Now imagine Padraig being near Tiger in the next 3-4 majors. That'll be a battle.

Disagree with you. Padraig has to be the least known-of golfer to win two majors last year. He just does it all quietly, albeit well. I don't think his image and demeanor would lend itself well to being a big hyped-up battle with Tiger for golf supremacy. Something like Tiger vs. Phil would generate huge interest because the two don't like each other, and Phil is a popular player with the crowds as well. Throw in the fact that Padraig isn't American and really there isn't a huge rivalry there.

Tiger missed many more than Yang. I guess what I was trying to say is that Tiger usually makes those shots, I can think of 4 or 5 that he'd make every other day. Yang played excellent golf and took advantage of very poor play.

Sure, for a while, but once you get the same result over and over, isn't that somewhat boring and predictable? I don't blame Tiger for being that good (although I always thought he was somewhat of a cocky tool), but I think I'd watch more if there was a bit more variety in the game. I agree it would be great that if there was another Tiger out there whom he could develop a good rivalry with. Until then, I cheer for all the other joe-schmoes who go up against him.

I'm the same as you.
But if you look at the ratings, people like the Tiger coronation to victory. If Tiger is on tv people will watch even if he's 10 shots ahead. People are yelling "IN THE HOLE" while he's teeing off on a 620 yard par 5
During this year's Masters, alot of people watched Tiger and Phil make a run at the leaders until they ran out of steam on 17 and 18, then turned off their tvs, couldn't care less who won.

I think Padraig's pretty fun. Love the accent
He's huge in Europe. I wouldn't mind a nice American vs. Europe battle.
If only Sergio could learn how to putt.

Yes YOUR life as been totally changed now that Tiger choked.
It was bound to happen, Tiger is allowed to have bad weekends. Perhaps playing 3 weeks in a row affected him. Perhaps the knee is still not right.
I'm reading alot of news today and I wish there was more analysis then just the end of the world as we know it.

I thought Tiger struck the ball very well and didn't look like his knee was a factor on his drive or approach shots. He was pretty terrible in and around the green. Terrible putting. He also had a couple shots that were just off... 2 in particular that landed just a foot or two to far and didn't have enough room to stop and spin back to the hole... instead they rolling/bounced through the green. I think Tiger just got beat (or rather, putt himself out of the championship).
Pretty impressive performance by Yang. A great charge on Saturday and then staying cool all day Sunday (he seemed really relaxed all day - smiling after missed putts, not being scattered with his drives, etc...).
