Default The 91st PGA Championship: August 13-16, 2009

http://www.pga.com/pgachampionship/2009/

I don't know about anyone else but I will be watching this from Thursday thru Sunday, I love majors!

All four days will be on TSN:

Thursday: 12pm to 6pm (MT)
Friday: 12am to 5:30pm (MT)
Saturday: 12am to 5pm (MT)
Sunday: 12am to 5pm (MT)

I see Tiger winning the tournament by Saturday having an 6 stroke lead going into Sunday.

Predictions?

Woods is 0 for 3 in majors this year and missed the cut at the British Open, and really didn't challege for the other 2. Last time he missed a cut at a major he came back with a fury. So I think he's out with vengence and takes this one. I don't think it will be a landslide win as someone will step up and mount a challenge. But he'll get the 54 hole lead on Saturday and hold it down.

It would be sort of neat to see a Tiger v Padraig final pairing. Would love for Weir to have another strong showing this week.

It's a LONG course! 7700 yards Par 72. Which favours Tiger alot.

Look for the bombers to do well. Ogilvy, Cabrera, Villegas, even Garcia!

HOOT: I think the days of anyone beating anyone by 6 strokes are long gone

Garcia had a 409 yard drive at the WGC Bridgestone. That is ridiculous.

I hope Tiger takes this one in a close one...maybe a playoff...

Tiger in the clubhouse with the lead at -5. There is still a lot of guys on the course/yet to tee off, but you have to love his chances with a first round like that.

Thats because I am stupid and can't figure out the time changes. You would think with all the stuff I do with the Flames schedule I would be able to figure out 11am in Victoria is 12pm in Calgary, not 10am.

Tiger has never lost a major when leading it after the 1st round.

Based on the way he was striking the ball yesterday, I certainly do not expect that trend to be broken. His distance control was amazing yesterday, and his putting was very good and he likely should be -7 right now. So if he keeps the ball on the short grass and his putter stays even average...cant see anyone going low enough to hang with him.

What was with John Daly yesterday? Jeez, so much wasted talent. It's sad.

Its what alcoholism does. Drains his focus and he simply cant deal adversity.

3 putt from 18"....among other things. He simply wasn't into it and WD was the right thing to do before he embarrassed himself further.

I am a huge fan of his but its really hard to watch him when he is like that.

What in the world has happened to Adam Scott?

82-79 = 161 +17

Wasn't he supposed to be the next hot thing? Hits it a mile, swings just like Tiger. Won the Tour Championship in 2006. Coached by Harmon etc...

As long as Tiger Woods is playing professional golf, the days of large margins of victory will be alive and well.

This one obviously appears to be all but done, but I'll still enjoy watching it. As Tiger nears in on Jack's record, these majors are history unfolding in front of our eyes. There aren't many times when you watch a sporting event and can instantly feel how important certain moments will be in a sports' history. These next few years watching Tiger will definitely provide those moments.

Apparently he had a shoulder injury and withdrew because of it.
