Vick to Philly.
Didn't expect that.
At least he went to a team that I already don't like. Makes it much easier to hate all the crappy QB's Philly has now.

I don't like it one bit. It doesn't make any sense either.

With McNabb's restructured contract, this seems kinda surprising. Philly fans are going to lose their minds everytime McNabb throws an interception wanting Vick.
I wonder if they won't use him in a Brian Westbrook mold? Catching passes out of the backfield, sweeps, tosses, lining up in the slot, or if they'll actually use him primarily as a QB.

The link. I gotta be honest, as an Iggles fan this is awesome. Our preseason injuries notwithstanding, the Eagles are making an SB push. I love it. Vick just gives them so many more options. Westbrook, DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin and Michael Vick? Holy hell.

Interesting move regarding Vick. I didn't hate the Eagles before so i'm indifferent with the move.

Scott Cullen's fantasy rankings for '09. Good for a laugh, they're pretty piss poor.

As far as Vick goes, I think he fits alright in Philly. By no means is he going to contest with McNabb for the starting position. It just gives them a veteran quarterback with a hell of a lot of speed (might still have it), and an extra weapon for the run game. Not to mention that with Kolb out with injury they need a legit back-up QB.

How? How does he give you more options?
He will never, on any single play, be a better option than McNabb! EVER.
I just don't get the love affair with this guy. He has never been anything more than a below average QB who could run. He pales in comparison to Randall Cunningham as a QB who was as good a runner as Vick.
I'm glad it's not Denver.

I'm thinking .500 this year. And Shaun Hill gets no respect, even though in the past 2 years he has completed 64% and has 18/9 TD/Int ratio. Hell never be a Brady or Manning (or Young or Montana) but he does play with a passion (as evidenced by getting his helmet knocked off last year and still diving for more yards) and seems to be able to make the players around him play harder.

And a 7-3 record as a starter is not too shabby

He won't be taking snaps away from McNabb but they'll probably use his speed as a sort of wild cat formation. That's the trend these days. McNabb is the starting quarterback and vick knows that.

I can see a formation similar to the wishbone formation but with Vick and Westbrook in the backfield.
The trick plays are the new in thing, and that's why there is so much attention around Vick. If anyone thinks he's going to become a starter at QB in this league, they are very much mistaken.
If the Wildcat didn't blow up like it did last year, I think you see Vick wait much longer for a contract.

Andy Reid says they'll think of something for him, so it sounds like they'll make a real effort to work him into the offense. Purely on the football side of things, the guy is one of the best athletes to grace the field. His running ability is 2nd to none that I've seen at the QB position. He has all the physical tools to be an impact player, provided he hasn't lost it in his absence.
I don't see where he fits but man I love him as a backup 10 fold compared to Kolb. Can he play MLB?

Of course he won't be taking snaps from McNabb. That was the whole point of my post.
They're using a roster spot for a guy who has no position. They have plenty of speed on the outside that they can shift to the backfield if they want to be stupid and use the wildcat.

Based on what? Seriously, I think people have forgotten what a terrible QB this guy was. Again, he was no Randall Cunningham. He has one dimension, and he may be great at that dimension, but that's it.

FINALLY!!!
BJ Raji has signed with the Packers. Huge expectations for him as the missing component in Capers 3-4...you HAVE to have a NT that can fill the middle and this guy has all the tools to do so.
IF, and its a big IF, he is ready to play at the NFL level right away...i expect the Packers to compete for the division with the Vikings.
