Default Team Fortress 2 "Classless" Update

http://www.teamfortress.com/classless/

Day 1:
18 new hats!
Cliffside Arena Map!

Throughout history, men have worn hats as a way of showing how much better they are than other men. “I buy hats,” a behatted man seems to say. “I am better than you.”

They are awesome and it's dumb that I don't have one.

Oh, and I bet that this time they're linking hats to achievements or something like that, rather than random drops.

No, they'll be random, and if you kill someone wearing a hat, you get to keep it. Maybe only if you melee them. We'll see. Oh, and they'll keep the hat too. You don't steal it, that would be lame.

And I bet you can trade hats too.

When the did the last update and added in the random unlocks, I got sick of that game and stopped playing it and went back to zombie mods for Counter-Strike.

I can't seem to get back in to TF2.

I am really enjoying Zombie escape maps for CS and I think it's what Left 4 Dead should have been. 32 players start off at a starting point and the map is a themed map with a lot of planned obstacles and puzzles and secrets and it's basically a race to the finish with zombies chasing after you. If they kill you, you turn into a zombie and you start chasing the the other players as well. Lots of smart points too where the humans have to hold off the zombies (which are all other players that were turned so it's extra funny) by shooting them off narrow ledges or something, etc. and they all try to escape to the end where there is usually a helicopter or something to take them away.

I'll also hazard to guess we'll be visited with another surprise Class update with this latest tease.

"Classless" can mean many things.

Oh wow! How did you find those hidden pages? Were they leaked like the spy video was?

Hard to really read into them though. Guess we'll just have to see what day 2 brings us.

I like the idea of killing someone to get their hat. Although then we'll just see hat farming servers.

I have not got a hat yet, but I have not made time to play lately.

I think the hats are cool. They set you apart and make people envy you. Being envied is what keeps people coming back.

A few more of "hidden" links. I love this game that Valve plays with us.

There are certainly hints toward the hats being unlockable upon killing someone with one, and for the king of the hill mode. I'm still kind of curious about this "Ro-Bot" thing, and reference to "Robin" being the most common name for Australian girls.

Robin Walker is some sort of person in charge of TF2. So it is a jab at him.

As for the Ro-bot...new engie building! You can build a roaming sentry robot! No more peeking around the corner to destroy sentries...

That would be so sweet yet horrible to play against. The Engy is my 5th played class I think. There would have to be a big offset though...

Still downloading the update, but I'm happy they dialed back the Force of Nature. And new CTF and CP maps! I'm so glad I have the PC version now, 360 owners are still in the lurch for their first update.

  • Sappers attached to a teleporter automatically place another Sapper on the other end of the teleporter, if it exists.
  • Engineers wrenching a teleporter will repair the other end as well, and remove Sappers from both if they exist.
This is a pretty good buff for engineers! I HATE spies that sneak behind the lines to just hang back and sap the teleporters.. no killing, no backstabbing or spawn camping, just sap, cloak, wait, sap, cloak, wait.

Interesting change to the Sandman now too, double jump back!

One scout on a server I play on a lot is crazy good with the Sandman, this'll make him happy.

Ha, I love doing that...on occasion. Works well on final stage of dustbowl. Or should I say...did work well.
