Haha ya guys thanks for the heads up about Schefter on that site, I didn't even think to follow him before. You can tell he's bored out of his mind right now, dude Tweets like 20 times a day. I finally caved two days ago and got Twitter, if only just to follow NFL media and a handful of Saints.

Goin to AZ in a couple weeks to watch the Packers/Cards pre-season game, I'm hopin the Pack sign him so I can check out his first game action in three years live.

I can't see him going to Pittsburgh... I don't think the Rooney family deals with crap like Vick.

I would be very interested in seeing what Belichick does with Vick.

Carolina might be an awesome fit... very good run game, a passing threat downfield... adding Vick would make for very difficult matchups.

What teams do make sense for Vick? 95% of teams have a true #1 QB or just drafted their "next star" (Tampa, NYJ, Detroit) except for the Vikings, San Fran, and maybe the Jags who dont have a #1. We could argue all day about Alex Smith, Gerrard, and Jackson but they arnt great. Greenbay makes sense because they do not have a #2 QB as far as im concerned if Rodgers goes down they can kiss the season good-bye. GB's run game isnt that great ethier so this would add a different element. Carolina doesnt NEED him cause they do have McCowan who is a decent backup but the run game would be very good.

I am sure I am just biased cause Greenbay is one of my favorite teams but Vick would instantly help that team.

You think Green Bay would want all that attention? They'd be instantly put under the microscope, and I just don't think Rodgers would do all that well with all that attention.

The Pats make sense, because of Bellicheck alone. Carolina makes sense with Delhomme struggling and the fact that they are (or were before injuries) a very strong running team, means if Vick went in, the offense wouldn't be dependant on his arm.

All power running teams could use him for game management. If he goes into an offense with a weak running game his lack of passing ability becomes so easy to pick up on from a defensive standpoint.

That's why the Steelers are probably marginally interested.

Put him in SF, GB, even Baltimore , that would be a huge mistake. But if the Packers want to make mistakes, I'll be MORE than happy about that.

Sf are still holding out hope for Smith. Both Smith and Hill have looked good so far but they are running with a limited playbook. Hill still has the quicker release, and all he has ever done for the Niners is win, so that is in his favour; but Smith is making all throws with no pain, has gotten a lot better at his quick reads and is throwing a very nice deep ball. So right now it is a true QB competition and I'm not sure bringing in Vick and the media circus that will accompany him will do anything good for the Niners in the mid to long term (in the short term, yeah, he would help, but I don't think he is a long term solution). A strong O-line - that is a solution to a lot of offensive problems and so far that group seems to be gelling. But until real games start you can never know for sure.

Pittsburgh? Please.

That is so NOT Rooneyesque.

Another one bites the dust. Eagles OL Todd Herremans is out for the rest of the preseason. Good news is both Hank Baskett and Desean Jackson are fully recovered and should play tomorrow.

The right call by Goodell.

The optics of letting him return quicker than Vick would of been bad....and morally wrong.

I like that the guy manned up and was resposible from the second the accident happened, but when all is said and done he both broke the law and was found guilty of doing so.

I applaud Goodell on being tough enough to punish Stallworth. I do wonder if this sets a new precedent for NFL players being charged with DUI? How many NFL players a year get charged with drunk driving? The difference between them and Stallworth is that Stallworth hit and killed a pedestrian. The pedestrian in Stallworth's case was jay walking across a freeway. Will Goodell have the courage to suspend every NFL player that gets charged with a DUI for the entire season from now on?

Shaun Hill is starting QB for the Niners/Broncos preseason game tomorrow night.

Willis, Bruce and Gore are sitting this one out.

Actually, Patrick Willis has been at every practice but hasn't participated in any of them. Officially he is day to day with an ankle problem, but it would be nice to see him actually in practice.

What is Gore's status? I have him in my keeper league?

He is fine and has been really good in camp. Reports are that he came to camp in incredible shape. They are just limiting his pre-season action and taking a look at the kid they drafted (who is planned to sub for Gore - Glenn Coffee).

Yikes! I don't like the sound of that. I need him to touch the ball 35 times a game.

He will get the ball lots, no worries.

Here is the quote from the beat writer: "The plan is for Gore to get some preseason carries this summer - he won't do a LaDainian Tomlinson - but Glen Coffee will take the first-teams carries against Denver."

I definitely think Coffee will be a handcuff guy for your FF team and should be available in the late rounds.

Edit: and the same writer from a few days ago: "Gore looks so good right now that you don't want to risk an injury before the games start to count."

I'm going to the SF-Denver preseason game tomorrow. Should be interesting to see that starters and how they look. I have zero expectations for the 49ers this year. They will be better, but I don't think they have a QB and even if Crabtree does sign, he's getting further and further behind in preparation.
