Yeah, the press is really dog-piling him for that statement (even though it was his cousin who said it).
Another perspective:
Quote:
He is effectively arguing: "Mel Kiper Jr. says I am better than Heyward-Bey, so the 49ers should pay me more than Heyward-Bey."

Speaking of overrated QB's. Vince Young opened his mouth recently. Someone needs to wire it shut.
"I don't know when I'll start again. But I will be the next black quarterback to win a Super Bowl. And I will be in the Hall of Fame."
Those are the gems he gave Esquire magazine. Just wow.

No. If Bey is better than Crabtree and Maclin, it is purely by luck.

Fair enough. I wasn't a Peyton fan for quite a few years because I thought he whined. Maybe, in my view, he's grown up a little and now he just looks mad and ultra competitive while Eli still looks like he's going to cry.

Brandon Jones broke his shoulder diving for a ball yesterday. Looks like he will be out 6-8 weeks.

I'm sure he has matured somewhat, but it doesn't hurt that the offense is purely and completely under his control. So things are generally going well, but when things go wrong, he still points his fingers and throws a mini tantrum.
Eli, still young and not as talented as his brother, and looks like he will always be a whiner, but is saying all the right things leading up to this season.
On a whole, as you can tell, I don't like Peyton....at all. And Eli, I'm indifferent towards, but they are both still whiners in my book.
As for the Cheifs signing Jackson, that's a great move. People are saying he will be better in the NFL than he was in college, which is always positive news for a franchise that deserves positive news.

Some interesting words from Cutler this week.
Quote:
“Denver’s like a 6 and Chicago’s like a 9,” Cutler said. “It’s quite a bit different. Just the fans and how passionate they are, that’s probably the biggest difference.”

After what happened with Dorsey last year the Chiefs are reminding everyone that DL take a year or two to adjust to the NFL.

I think Jackson is the idea 3-4 DE...whereas Dorsey is a complete unknown in a 3-4 system. Probably a better 4-3 fit.

Adam Schefter is reporting on Twitter that the Jackson deal is for 5 years, $57 million, $31 million guaranteed. Should be hearing something on Aaron Curry in the near future.
Edit: Jackson is already on the field in River Falls WI. The deal must have been signed last night.

Not a good day for Broncos fans. Orton still sucks, Prater sucks (both were booed), and Brian Dawkins may have broken hand that requires surgery.

I think the QB class is going to be great next year. Bradford and McCoy are both quality prospects. Tebow is an unknown, but I think he's going to be a star in the NFL.

The Broncos give Moreno his 'n' back.
5 years, $23 million.
Knowsho is now Knowshon Moreno.

The Broncos record doesn't matter. They traded their first next year to move up and pick up Smith in the 2nd round this year. The only first they have next year is the Bears pick. I'm hoping the Bears stink up the joint.

Very true. I keep forgetting that.
For the record, I think Smith is going to be a stud.

Apparently Desean Jackson has been "dominant" in Eagles camp so far. According to various reports, he's looked been beating jams and getting open on guys like Samuel and Brown. The kid seems to be putting it all together.

Brady is due for a new contract soon. Did McNabb get the extension and salary increase he was looking for already, if not then the Eagles may have made a mistake waiting.
