Default Taste of Calgary postponed

Just a heads up to anyone who might have been thinking of braving the weather to go to Taste of Calgary, it's been postponed for a week.

At the risk of sounding stupid, and too lazy to move my cursor to my google search bar, what's taste of Calgary all about?

It's a food fair at Au Claire. Many restaurants in town bring new recipes for people to sample, hoping you will like it enough to go to their place.

It's a lot of fun, great food dishes from a lot of vendors that you wouldn't normally try. Good beer garden as well.

Thanks for the notice about the postponement, we will adjust our plans accordingly.

It doesnt. But if you work downtown then its a good place to go have lunch.

If I had a family I wouldnt drive them and pay to park downtown or pay to park at the ctrain station to bring them.

And here I was thinking the exact opposite....half of those places are restaurants I've never been to. Would be a good way to taste all their food.

I agree. The list is pretty good. I am not sure what someone was expecting.

I will have to try the Panoeke house stuff.

That's what I thought the first year I went to Taste of Calgary. There was no way I would have went to half of those restaurants on my own if it weren't for this event. However, as the years went on, the restaurants in attendance haven't changed much. I will still attend this year.

If it's anything like Taste of Edmonton, I'd consider driving three hours south for the food.

Having been to both, they're very similar.
