Default CG's CPHL Cap Hell analysis...

I figured I'd steal Locke's idea from the other part of the forum. This is as of right now, some teams might have more if they send down prospects that are on their pro team etc.

Teams feasting on the souls of others

Philadelphia 0.50 million

Teams that are done in terms of needs

Anaheim - 0.01 million
Edmonton - 1.30 million
St. Louis - 8.56 million
Phoenix - 0.40 million
Buffalo 0.95 million
Pittsburgh 3.55 million
Minnesota - 0.91 million
Montreal 0.51 million
New York Islanders - 0.87 million

Teams really burning in hell - Less than 3 million

Boston 0.15 million - Needed - 2 Forwards, 1 D, 1 backup
Atlanta 0.67 million - Needed - 1 Forward
Colorado - 1.74 million - Needed - 1 Forward
Columbus - 2.14 million - Needed - 1 Forward
Florida 2.55 million - Needed - 3 Forwards, 1 D
Chicago - 2.608 million - Needed - 2 Forwards
Washington 2.94 million - Needed - 2 Forwards, 1 backup

Getting slow roasted - less than 5 million

Los Angeles 3.62 million - Needed - 2 D
New York (R) - 3.87 million - Needed - 1 Forwards, 1 D, Backup
Dallas - 3.87 million - Needed - Coach
San Jose -4.04 million - Needed - 1 Forward
Calgary - 4.20 million - Needed - Backup
Nashville - 4.36 million - Needed - 4 Forwards, 1 D

Is it hot in here? - Less than 10 million

Ottawa - 5.09 million - Needed - Coach
Toronto 5.92 million - 1 Forward, 1 D
Detroit - 6.26 million - Needed - 1 D
Vancouver - 8.54 million - Needed - 1 Forward
Tampa Bay - 9.38 million - Needed - 2 Forwards, 2 D, Backup

Rolling in dough - more than 10 million

New Jersey - 10.07 million - Needed - 4 Forwards
Goalie Farm - 11.61 million - Needed - 4 Forwards

Ill just comment on my own team, the Flyers need couple 4th liners and we're set, so 4 MILL for that is enough.

The Nashville picture looks a lot better in your review than it does in reality. We signed Daniel Briere and Patrick Lalime at the deadline which leaves us in the burning in hell category for the time being!

After the two players get waived, we'll have about $4.75mm to round out some depth, so we're in decent shape. We'll likely have about $4mm to spend since I want to save some for sponsorship.

Good job putting this together, I had no idea some teams had so much money!

Oilers were hoping for a third line forward, a 4th line forward, and another 6-7 defenceman. Looks like we won't have enough money to sign any of those pieces though. Anyone rated over 60OV is going to go for at least 3 million a year.

Don't have enough depth to trade for that stuff either, so we will probably need to downgrade a couple players to help fix our depth problems. Talk about bungling your cap situation! Why oh why did we do that stupid Gonchar trade....BURN!

Other not so friendly contracts Jagr(Nas), Havelid(Sj), Malik(Col), Legace(Dal), Poti(Det), Smith(Car), Hannan(Bos), Nylander(TB), Mayers (NYI).

So lotsa money tied up with guys who need to pack it in.

our cap situation could be better, but actually we can put out several 22-23 man rosters under the cap as things stand right now

if anyone knows Nolan Pratt though you could ask him to retire

I plan on sitting down with Peter Karmanos, Jr wednesday morning to discuss the Carolina Hurricanes team budjet and what the salary cap floor and ceiling will be for the Hurricanes.

The Flames have a lot of holes to fill and we really don't have that much money left after the RFA signing period.
