Naw. I believe that will be resolved in the next couple of weeks. Bowlen is going to cave and pay the kid.

Besides, they aren't a one trick pony at that position.

Apparently Shawn Andrews' back is acting up again. Yay. The guy is easily the best offensive lineman in football when he's healthy, but that seems to be happening less and less. Jason Peters is also hurt.

For anyone else that is a Bucs fan out there:
http://www2.tbo.com/content/2009/aug...e/sports-bucs/

Quote:
Shortly after players reported to One Buc Place on Friday afternoon, new coach Raheem Morris ran them through a conditioning test made up of 300-, 150- and 60-yard sprints.
"It goes back to Tony Dungy's days," said Morris, referring to the Bucs' head coach from 1996-2001. "We always threatened them with it, but we never ran it. I decided to run it because it's a great chance to see where the guys are and what they've been doing.
"You can see who's been working out and who's just kind of been coasting. And with this you kind of set a precedent, 'Hey, we may have to run that conditioning test.' So it was good. It was fun to watch."
Kind of worriesome that Arron Sears is missing from the camp. I like the changes the new staff has made. Looks like Faine and Hovan are stepping up in leadership roles.

"I'm not playing just to get by. I'm not playing to get a top-10 draft pick. I'm not putting my body on the line for that. If certain guys are thinking like that, tell me because I want to sit down and talk to them."

"Hopefully we'll have similar results."
Lastly good to see that Josh Freeman is signed:

Quote:
Rookie quarterback Josh Freeman, who signed a five-year, $36 million contract before reporting Friday, is looking to win the starting job during camp.

Alex Smith was booed after he double clutched on his first pass during their first training camp practice.

If he was expecting some leeway after a bunch of good off season reports, I guess he found out otherwise.

Percy Harvin signs in Minny...

http://www.tsn.ca/nfl/story/?id=286561

Thats a guy i feel will be huge or a complete bust with no in-between.

Durability is the biggest concern IMO, as he really is a tad small.... though as guys like Sproles have proven, thats not always a negative. That positive drug test is always a bit of a red flag as well.

Finally the real football season has begun.

As a huge dolphins fan, I cannot remember the last time I've been so excited. Huge expectation for my fish and I am interested in what Pat White will bring to the wildcat V2.0

Stewart Bradley done for the year.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/traini...ory?id=4374410

Probably the one of three positions where the Eagles are lacking depth. This might put the playoffs in doubt if they can't find a suitable replacement. Bradley was a beast last year.

No, they'll stay within the organization and go with either Joe Mays or Omar Gaither. Gaither does alright in pass coverage, but he's pretty weak against the run. Mays doesn't have any experience as a starter.

Looks like they signed Wilhelm. Chargers released him last week. Losing Bradley hurts big time, this was going to be a breakout year for him.

Maclin 5 years 15.5 mil seems like a great contract.

What portion do you think is guaranteed? I assume its front loaded with a signing bonus?

Doesn't seem like Curry is going to sign with the 'Hawks any time soon which sucks, I've heard that Tyson Jackson's agent is waiting for Curry to sign to get leverage off of his deal and Curry's agent is waiting for Jackson to sign to get leverage off of him, I just want him to get signed and into camp.
