Hopefully someone can help me out. I am pretty sure I have some kind of virus on my laptop right now. I'll try to explain it and hopefully it all makes sense.
A couple of days ago my mouse seemed to be acting up. It would just double click for no reason every now and then. That seems to have gone away for the time being. Now when I search on yahoo some of the links I click on take me to spam(I assume) sites and they don't take me where I should be going. They just seem to be redirecting me to different spam sites. And then eventually it will just close down explorer and a pop up will appear saying I have viruses and malware on my computer.
I am not a computer junkie and really don't know much about this kind of stuff. I have McAfee Security Center and have ran a scan and nothing shows up as defected or no viruses show up. Anyone have any suggestions or can anyone help me out? Thanks.
Sounds like a root kit malware. You can search this forum for a lot of good advice, but I would suggest downloading and installing Malware Bytes. (Google it). You will probably have to start up windows in safe mode for any of these programs to work properly.
