I'm also in Huntington Hills but didn't see any trees on garages o_o that's scary. I was up for this, but didn't think of CP... I've always been tought to turn computers off during thunderstorms. I got a couple pictures and videos, but nothing as cool as what's already been posted, because out my windows the most you can see really is houses and trees.

When I showed that video found by InSutterWeTrust to my friend in Florida, all he said was how that was nothing compared to what they get. Pfft.

My inlaws live just outside of Olds and they work for a mixed farming operation. Apparently the hail was so bad it completely destroyed all of their crops and shattered several windows in the outbuildings including their garage.

They mentioned that they had some water, food, and wallets in a bag ready to hide in the basement with -- they said it reminded them of a tornado they lived through in Provost years ago.

I hope that your family is ok.

If anyone has pics from NW of the city (or anywhere I guess) please post them or send them to me at cphl_bostonbruins@hotmail.com . Thanks!

Here is a pic sent to The Weather Network from Sundre:

I was woke up at 150am by this, my window blinds were going crazy so I walked to my living room and my condo building started to shake because of the wind. Pretty good light show until about 230. Then I went back to bed.

Got woken up last night by the storm, ran to close all my windows, and couldn't get back to sleep until around 4:30. Woke back up, 2 hours or so later.

Default If a tree falls in Bowness...

Just got back from camping to find a tree top in the street in front of my neighbours place (and a bit of mine). Unfortunately for him a rather large branch smashed his windshield and left a couple nasty dents on his hood and roof. He's getting back from France tonight so will be in for quite the surprise.

Who's responsibility is it to remove the downed tree? The tree is from his neighbour's property so I'm assuming it's the landowner's responsibility. Or will the city remove it since it's blocking half the street?

Im sure they can just call 3-1-1. They've never let me down with whatever city related question i've had.

my house (and i think street) lost power from when the storm started (2:15-2:30ish) and didn't get back until after i went back to sleep at 3:30, so it was out for a while.

the worst part it killed the air conditioning and my room got too warm to sleep in

Seems like there is another storm right now.

Anyone in the NW having problems with cable/internet cutting out? I'm on shaw and I'm pretty sure it's because of the storm last night.

Wow, we were out the condo in Canmore and missed all the fun. I think it rained a little there but that's it. I did see a big thunderhead climb over the mountains to the NE of Canmore and we did see some lightning towards Banff. Kind of sorry I missed all the fun.

Biking through West Hillhurst just after the storm passed, around 3:30am, I came across a fir tree that snapped about a quarter of the way up. The three quarters of the tree that broke off was so large it blocked the entire width of the alley it was in. It fell just beside a car, nearly crushing it, but probably just leaving it with a massive scrape instead.

Anyways I took a picture of it... although its kind of hard to see much considering my already poor photography skills become even worse after a few beers.

Nope, not at all. Is it still happening? What area are you in?
