Glass clanking is my favourite part! I usually start it and everyone knows it.

When it's my turn to get married, everyone's going to get me back

For my wedding, I got my guys Pewter Beer Steins with Pewter stamped Shot Glasses. All personallized. Bought them in South Center for about $25 per person.

Something to this effect

I like the idea of beer mugs. Where can I buy a Das Boot?

We are getting married this Saturday and we both despise the clinking as well. WE are going to use the putting game to get us to kiss... you hit the marker we kiss, you miss you have to kiss someone else (and it can be anyone).

For my groomsmen gifts we're going golfing at Kokanee Springs for 2 rounds + 2 nights over Labour Day. Got a solid deal, and that is something that you'll always remember. I have 6 - 8 mugs + flasks, but never use them. I wanted it to be something special.

For the clanking, put little bells on the table. You likely dont have enought time to order them and get them delievered. They work as a nice gift for the atendee as well.

At my buddys wedding on the weekend instead of clinking glass they had a donation jar out for a charity and if you wanted them to kiss all you had to do was make a donation. It seemed to work really well.

My sister just got married this weekend.

If you wanted to kiss you either had to do a shot of Jagger, or do the Hula hoop thing.

And her husband got us these Golf style BBQ sets. Great gift since I love BBQing.... (he got them engraved too)

We came up with a number of skill testing questions about ourselves:

Where we met, where we were born, favourite food, things like that plus a number of more difficult ones. Probably a couple dozen questions in total. It was good because some of my relatives didn't know my wife so they learned a bit about her, and it was more interactive then just clinking.

I know you stated that you "dispise" the clinking of glasses... but...

I emceed my buddies wedding the weekend before last. We just said to hell with it, and let them clink. Honostly, we made rules up as we went to make sure that it was maybe once between speeches.

I did make sure it was clear that it's hard enough for people to write the speeches, let alone get up and talk in front of crowds, so we put an ixnay on clinking durring speeches. While I was talking it was fair game.

It actually went over better than some of the atempts I've seen at other weddings, including my own.

Unless you have like 16 people doing speeches, even with clinking glasses... it'll all be over before you know it.

We made people read a paragraph they picked out of one of the many Danielle Steele books we brought to the reception. Worked out well. There was some funny crap in there.

At my cousin's wedding this past weekend, once the glass clinking got to be a little much, the MC announced that instead family members of the bride and groom would kiss, and went down a list of 'parents of the bride', 'parents of the groom', etc. to give the bride and groom a chance to eat and it seemed to go over well as people kept clinking but it happened less often.

I ended up getting flasks for my bestman, groomsmen, MC, and myself. Great deal on them. I got them engraved with their name, title, and date of the wedding as well.

Only $205. The flasks were $40 regular but they were 75% off so I got them for $10 plus 85 cents per character engraving
