Ok I editted it and took that out, I was expecting to write a bit more, but I figure I should stop procrastinating and get back to work.

Have you considered that you may be the spawn of Satan, and are having visions of the coming apocalypse?

Celebrated Square Root Day

I used to get this weird thing, where it's like I was stuck between a dream and reality. I'd wake up to the point where my eyes were open, and I was aware that I'm awake. Yet the dream would still be kind of going on in my head. Then I'd try and lift my head up, or reach my hand over to the light and nothing would happen.
Basically, I was awake enough to know I was no longer sleeping, and to tell myself to lift my head or reach over to the light, yet not awake enough for body to physically react to what I was telling it to do. It was really weird, and happened every few nights for quite awhile.
It also came with unexplained pain. For example, when I would try to lift my head, but to no avail, I would get a crushing headache when I finally fully woke up, but the headache would only last for a few minutes, and then completely dissapear.

How old were you? I had something similar to that until I was about 8.

It probably had something to do with the 40oz of Big Bear you drank before you went to sleep.

You're not having nightmares, when you think you're sleeping you're actually awake, and when you think you're awake you're actaully dreaming. So you are actaully dreaming now, so i suggest you wake up and get back to your nightamrish life.
Can people stop posting such looong posts, I mean they are so hard to read because you get lost half way through it, and then you wonder why you're reading a thread about nightmares and wh it's only 12 .

It's a child riding a stuffed triceratops, that's in the process of devouring another dinosaur. And yes, I'm aware triceratops were herbivores.

When is was a kid i'd have night terrors. I still have very vivid dreams and many of them are what i would consider to be anxious dreams. They could be very intense, often involving a fight with sharks, lions and zombies. I dream about zombies a lot.
Now i dont believe in dream interpretations per se, but i do think that dreams give the dreamer stories that they can use to make sense of their own life. If the dreams follow the same storyline, it could be a sign of a reoccuring pattern in your waking life that your dreams are reiterating. You said you dream of demons and corpses. Try to think about the feelings you have when you experience these things in your dreams. Does something in your waking life give you the same feelings? I think that dream imagery is very personal, so what kinds of thoughts emerge when you recall the images in your dreams?
I hope this doesnt come across as too new-agey cuz it really just about thinking about your dreams as a personal story you tell yourself about your life. I found approaching my dreams in this way help me with the intense dreams. Didnt always make them go away, but it's helped to take some of the fear away from experiencing nightmares as a adult.

Fixed.
I used to have nightmares of being chased by a large black goat when I was a child. I killed him in one of my dreams and he never came back.
