Oxford scientists have created a transparent form of aluminium


I thought Mr. Scott gave the the formula to some guy in Star Trek IV.

still a LOOOOOOOONG way from being anything that will change anything in technology.

I imagine a lot of materials might do weird things when subjected to that amount of energy onto such a small space.

Why couldn't Scotty have left the schematics for a phaser rifle or a photon torpedo launcher instead.
