Default NHL 09 online team play lag(PS3)

Whenever I play NHL 09 online with the Fata's I always have horrible lag which makes it pretty much unplayable and makes me all but useless when playing, has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it.

It is only NHL that lags, all other games I play online work perfectly fine.

You can say that again...

Any other traffic on your network when you play? Video streams, torrents etc. can all cause the lag you are referencing.

If you're wireless go wired. The EA servers are really picky and you need a strong, stable connection.

that's why I had to stop playing. I'm on a wireless network, and it was really laggy on any games over 2 on 2. Half the time I'd be trying to pass or get around somebody, thinking I had lots of time, then it would jump a little and I'd be on my ass or had the puck stolen without even seeing what happened. Sometimes it would jump and the play would already be in our end while I was still in the other team's zone. Got really frustrating.

I think as was mentioned the only fix is to go wired, and shut off any computers that might be running while playing.

I think I fixed it by DMZing(demilitarised zone) my PS3. I used this guide I found on google, http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/610541.

I still suck though.
