Winning in Vegas and not paying taxes.

So back in November last year I won a progressive jackpot at Caesars Palace under $10,000 due to some circumstances ie. forgetting to get my passport given back to me at customs I was unable to claim it at the time and was given a letter of winnings inviting me to pick up my prize when I can. Now I was told about some type of card you can get that you show when you pick up your prize that allows you to take your winnings with out paying the Nevada state taxes on winnings.

Does anyone know where or how I can go about doing so? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think there are brokers who will do it for you, but you might have to pay a fee...

Maybe you should just tell them you're a Freeman on the land.

This kind of thing happened to my mom a few years ago. They still withheld the tax, but after about 5 minutes of searching on the IRS website (trust me, if she can find the info that quick, anyone can), she was able to find the process for foreigners to get their taxes returned. It was a really simple process, and she got a cheque a few weeks later.
