I'm surprised the little idiot didn't accept the Phillies' downsized offer.

Really? Based on what?

This team is falling fast. They have won 1/6 series in July, 4 of those 5 losses coming to division rivals. Their record this month is 6-13, and since June it is 18-27. Also, there is talk of trading seemingly everybody on the roster except Hill, Lind, and a couple pitchers (and Vernon Fat won't get traded, nobody is stupid enough to take his lazy arse and giant contract). Even that idiot JP sees this team isn't going anywhere, surely even the most loyal fans can push aside their blind optimism and see that is the reality.

Unless, of course, you were joking, then ignore all this

			Ah, the Blue Jays...
The problem with the Blue Jays is they are paying in Toronto. just kidding!

Joking aside, Jays starting pitcher are decent enough and can shut down any team, then you put in the reliever and out goes the team. The Jays lack a good reliever and they have the worst closer in the league in Scott Downs. How many times does this guy have to blow the lead and give up home runs?

Defensively, they have the personnel but offensively they are crappy. They have 2 outfielders making big bucks (Wells and Rios) not contributing enough offensively. Their first base Lyle is supposed to score some runs.

JP should resign after this season and give way to someone who can manage this team and also knows what he is doing. Trade Wells and Rios for a decent relief pitcher and get a good closer.

Is it worth putting ten minutes of copy-and-pasting statistics?
Probably not.

I really wanted to head to Seattle over the next couple days to watch a couple games, but not going to happen here. Really would have liked to possibly see Halladay on Wednesday afternoon in particular. Had the matchups lined up I would have said screw it and make sure I see The King pitch against Doc. But things didn't work out that way.

Is it really King Felix against Doc on Weds?
I'd need a active passport to go, wouldn't I. Damn.

No, Hernandez is scheduled for tonight against Romero which is still a good matchup. But Doc goes up against a fill in as I think thats Bedards spot and he's back on the DL again.

Subject: TV programming Questions - Jays availability in West Region
 ------------------------------------------------------------
 Content:
It is absolutely blasphemous that as the main broadcasters, and OWNERS
OF THE TEAM, that you continually choose to play the Yankees over Blue
Jays on SNW. It is more than likely the last home start Roy Halliday will
ever have as a Blue Jay, and yet it is preempted for a Yankees game.
This also happened a couple weeks ago for 4 days in a row. I understand
you want to expand coverage of the MLB, but for gods sake rotate the
extra game between more regions. Does the west region have the least
subscribers to your multi channel package, so you're trying to force it
on us? I will never order that package, let alone support Rogers
Communications in any way. This is why TSN is considered a classy
broadcaster and SNET is considered bush league. Get a clue guys.
 |
They actually listened??? I will still try to boycott all non blue jay / flames games. Thank god all I'm missing is poker and the worst sports news program around...

If there was one game this year that you should be ensuring everyone in
Canada has the chance to watch, it should be Roy Halladay's likely last
game. Do you honestly think people in the East and West regions want to
watch the Yankees and Red Sox instead of the Jays? I understand this is
part of your plan to try to force people to subscribe to all 4 regional
channels, but instead you are simply alienating people like myself who
want to watch the Jays. I don't want to subscribe to 4 channels all
showing poker and Sportsnet News 90% of the time. I'll stick to
Sportscentre, thanks. You guys are, and will always remain a 2nd teir
sports network because of dumb decisions like this one. TSN would be
smart enough to shuffle their schedule to ensure this game was shown
nationally. "The home of baseball that matters"...BS! It'll be a happy
day if ANY other network gets the Jays rights from you guys.
Ridiculously stupid decision...who is running this show?
 |
Kind of similar, isn't it?

The Mariners are fielding like the Durham Bulls playing an afternoon double header after buck a beer night. I've played on slow pitch teams who defend better than that.

Apparently they suck at hitting with RISP as well...pitching must be doing it for these guys otherwise I don't know how they're above .500.

They are above .500??

After watching this game I assumed they were their usual terrible team.

That was one of the most pathetic efforts I have seen this year. They looked like they gave up in the 5th inning.
