Well solid outing for Halladay but Downs blows it in the 10th inning and the Jays will lose. Matt Garza matched Doc pitch for pitch though tonight. 2nd time in 2 appearances that Downs can't get through an inning with the game on the line. Trade him!

I'm done with the Jays.

Downs hasn't been the same since coming back....I said to my peeps back here that he would blow it in the 10th and he promptly got that job done.

Overbay and Wells have terrible contracts, and are terrible players.

JPR has no idea which players in the AAA are actually worth calling up.

Trade Halladay from this sinking ship. Shea Hillenbrand was right.

I thought our chance to win the game was every inning that downs wasn't pitching. Downs is still recovering the feel for his game and it looks like it.

All evening I have been researching all the phillies prospects rumoured to be included in the deal. 3 of them are in the top 50 of baseball america's list: SP Drabek, Moore OF, Taylor OF. All three of them are in the top 25 actually. The Moore guy is the Left handed hitting outfielder with the most upside of all the position players. The Taylor guy is impressing some scouts with his offensive make up and his arm strength. He also is a right hander who seems to have the ball jump of his bat and he has great bat speed. Both the OF are big dudes, but if we had to pick one I take the left-hander. Moore is a little further away and Taylor is more major league ready.

JA Happ, Donald, Carrasco and Marson are all in play.

I don't care what anyone says, if a team wants Halladay and isn't willing to part with their best 2 prospects, JP should just move on to the next team on the list. No reason Halladay should be dealt for second rate prospects.

I still don't want to believe that Halladay will not be the opening day pitcher for the Jays next season. Hopefully we hold on to him and have a miracle season next year.

No, I'd rather not lose him for nothing because we have the illusion this team is ready to finish anywhere higher than 4th in the division next year.

Only the Jays could turn a 9-1 lead into a nailbiter.

You're freaking kidding me. I watch the first few innings, leave with the score 8-0, and get back and we're in the 11th. I seriously hate being a fan of this team sometimes. Easily the least satisfying fan experience of any team I'm a fan of.

For the past 2 months the Jays probably have the worst record in baseball, its gotta be close.

What a joke of a team right now. If they don't deal Halladay they will really look silly.

Scott Downs is doing his best to convince other MLB teams to not trade for him.

LOL.

Are you freakin kidding me? They blew a 9 - 1 lead in the 6th?!

I thought about making a bet on this game today. I had a feeling the mustache would have a good outing, and when I checked the score and saw it was 8 - 0, I was kind of choked I didn't do it. Now I just can't help but laugh.

LOL I saw the highlights just now. That was pretty funny! Jays have offered Halladay to Philly for 3 prospects but Philly rejected saying they only want to part with 2 of them. I hope a Halladay deal gets done soon and he wins the championship with his new team. Roy deserves it.

Toronto could get two prospects for Halladay at next year's deadline, so if the Phillies are balking at three right now, then forget them and move on to other suitors.

Agreed, there is no way the Jays will settle on a offer... . They are going to demand a high price and if its not met Doc will stay a Jay.

Tough situation, as I don't think Cleveland got a particularly good return when they dealt away Sabathia last year. The Jays can't get in a position where thats all they get back for Hallady, but it seems like MLB teams just aren't that eager to pay up to get him either. Really in terms of timing, it's about the worst time ever to be trying to sell an established veteran with a high salary and hope for young players back.
