Default Nhl 2k10

I got duped by these guys last year and bought the Wii version of NHL2K9. That thing was an unmitigated disaster and deemed not fun and consequently unplayable.

However, NHL2K10 seems to have addressed a few of these concerns. This feature preview from IGN highlights a few of the improvements on the Wii version:
- everything in the 360 and PS3 versions is in the Wii version (except the nice graphics): online play, stick lifting, etc.
- motion controls have been scaled back so you're not just flailing around like a ###### when you're trying to play
- Wii Speak
- support for MotionPlus allowing 1:1 motion for shot control, passing and stickhandling
- cursor passing is back and relatively unchanged BUT it's no longer the default passing mode
- graphics have been bumped up and refined running at 60 fps

I think I will rent before buying but it looks like they are at least trying to make things better.

I always liked 2k hockey games better, but my friends played NHL09 and I wanted to be good at it to kick their asses.

This series has really fallen from grace. It seems like they are still stuck in last gen, when their game was far superior to EA's. This generation isn't even close, EA hockey is leaps and bounds better than 2k. Its too bad, I actually like the variety, but 2k just hasnt even been worth trying lately. Maybe this year will be different.

2K series after 2K6 I think has been a joke. 2K5 I thought was a good year. Until they overhaul the game and actually try to enter the next gen of consoles then I won't even rent. Reviews will settle it fast enough.
