Question MPEG 4 to MP3 converter?

Does anyone happen to know of a free program that will allow me to convert MPEG 4 files to MP3s? I've been using AltoMP3 Gold, but it appears my trial has run out. I don't feel like shelling out $30 for a program I use once or twice a month.

I use a PC. Is there anyway to convert without even using a program?

Thanks in advance!

iTunes will do it.

Add the m4a files into your library.

Edit > Preferences >

Click the Import Settings and set it to mp3.

Ok

From now on, when you right click an audio file in your library, there will be an option to Create MP3 version...

Sorry... do you mean an mp4 audio file, or an mp4 video with mp3 audio embedded?

I've saved files from youtube and I just want the audio from them, not the video.

I'm not familiar with too many of the new vb apps that are out there for file conversions... but everything I know about video tells me you're going to have to edit those files in a video editor and strip out the audio, exporting it on its own.
