				 Recommended string bands for wedding?

			Hi,
I'm trying to find a string band for my wedding. Basically, I don't really care if there are 1, 2 or 3 of them, so long as they play nice music. Harp, cello, violin etc. We're looking for only a few hours (pre-ceremony, ceremony, and post-ceremony).

Anyone have any good contacts? And what's the price range?

 Thanks in advance.

			No idea, but nice!
EDIT: Maybe call the CPO, maybe they know of a few of their musicians who do something like this?

Also call the U of C music department. I think when you call the CPO, it's harder to find musicians who are happy just being background music; the CPO musicians that I've known don't really like playing gigs where people are going to be talking, moving around, etc. while they're performing.

Don't waste your money Jayems, I've got a guitar, and I can just tape a piece of paper over the f*** sticker for your wedding. Just tell me when and where.

Call a wedding planner. We had a band at our wedding, and I think they cost about 5500 bucks. Not cheap. At 10ish, a DJ started playing music for the younger crowd. PM me if you want to know more. This is Calgary though, that is why I suggested you contact a planner in Edmonton.

We had her and a piano play. She was excellent. Fairly reasonable price, IIRC. Only played the wedding, not the dance.

			look up Allegra.
They are a string quartet that have been around Calgary for years. Very professional and talented.
